Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Christmas Land... It will ring in your head, the spooky way that Kate spins these voices seem odd at first, but it fits.... Kids gone bad, actually a Age Old Villan driving one spooky Rolls Royce and his odd creepy servant set the stage. Just when you thought it was over, a new part beings, and then once more... It is about Revenge, saving a lost Child and a dude that just will not die as he infects your mind with his thoughts.

What if you could just move back and forth in time, and it cost you dearly... but it helps so many people.. this is the Delima.. but wait, and Evil Guy can do it to...

Nosferatu is more human here, just aged and can heal... No fangs or pale skin, a Man who is just Creepy and preys on Children...

What did you like best about this story?

Just Creepy enough to be believable, a solid story line that just keeps building up and up!

It isn't a Vampire Book, it isn't really a Horror story either, Nos Vortue

What about Kate Mulgrew’s performance did you like?

Kids going 'Christmas Land' Get that out of my head.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I like the Female Herioine, nothing rocks more than a Woman who never gives up!

The killer escapes. Mr. Mercedes is a war between good and evil, from the master of suspense whose insight into the mind of this obsessed, insane killer is chilling and unforgettable.

Stephen King, has shifted Gears to just a great story teller. I thought after 'Joyland' which I really enjoyed, could he do it again and he did.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All Characters from the Evil Ice Cream Man to Mr. Hodge's the Retired Cop. One last run in Retirement showed more than he bargined for. Some truly Sad 'Oh No' Moments to Surpise Ending...I found myself glued to this book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    The Same. "Mr. Mercedes"

Judas Coyne is a collector of the macabre. But nothing he possesses is as unlikely or as dreadful as his latest discovery, a thing so terrible-strange, Jude can't help but reach for his wallet. For a thousand dollars, Jude will become the proud owner of a dead man's suit, said to be haunted by a restless spirit. But what UPS delivers to his door in a black heart-shaped box is no imaginary or metaphorical ghost. It's the real thing.

Would you listen to Heart-Shaped Box again? Why?

This is Deep Psychology, real enough to be real..which makes it all the more Scary. I thought Koontz and Craven had the Top of the list, but Wow, this was a story and Joe Hill nailed it.

    1. Suspenseful, it kept it going, to the very last 30 seconds I kept thinking 'Will She...'

    2. Dark and Deep, a kind of Hypnotic Lull.. I at times thought it to dark and I wanted to be happy, but I wanted to find out how the story played out. The characters are on constant edge, so tired of the chase that it would be easier to give up kind of drama.

    3. "It Could Happen" kind of Ghost / Spirit points. Who hasn't seen a ghost, had a premonition etc.

One of the Darkest Stories ever, not gore, but Pure Evil, Angry vs Love and Triumph. But mostly the ending, that is always the hardest point of any book/story. Again Joe Hill Nailed it, it will surprise you to the bitter end. Imagine someone from beyond the grave can control your mind, and whose one goal is to kill you at all cost. He can appear anywhere, control others to come at you, even your girlfriend...that my friend is not something I want to happen to me..

What other book might you compare Heart-Shaped Box to and why?

Tick Tock by Dean Koontz. This one was better than Tick Tock but it had the same 'being chased by the Devil Himself Panic.

Which character – as performed by Stephen Lang – was your favorite?

Craddock...The one who came back from the dead with a Vengance to Kill Jude and anyone who helped him. The Voice was un-nervingly evil, calm and leacherous.

Who was the most memorable character of Heart-Shaped Box and why?

Craddock. His Character just never quit, was around every corner, a evil presence that could control your mind and make you see/do what ever he wanted you to do. Part Army Interrogation/Hypnosis and Voodo...

    Any additional comments?

A Dark Book, it evelopes you this way. As noted a few times I was like 'to depressing' and I wanted to go out and do something else. But ever time I stopped the audio book I couldn't wait to continue it.

I definately thought I saw a 2nd part brewing there...Craddocks daughter is still alive after all !

Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics. But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his wills. Nobody fights the Epics...nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them. And David wants in. He wants Steelheart - the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David's father.

What did you love best about Steelheart?

Overall I don't follow comic books, but this is kind of like 'If Superman was Evil' concept. A strange planet gives many across earth 'Epic' powers..Invisibility, Strength, Shape Shifting, Darkness etc. More than X-Men, a story of how a few overpower Earths people.

Yet where there is Evil, Hero's arrive.

What did you like best about this story?

It seemed far more realistic than XMen or Avengers etc. Here you see ones Epic powers used to cause fear, others who support him, aligning like Nazi's, afraid to go against the powerful, people go in, the light of the Sun is blocked, people move underground out of fear. A police state ensues, yet a band of 'Reckoners' seeks to end the Reign of evil by 'Steel Heart' the most powerful Epic on the earth.

Oddly each Epic has a weakness, and one nerd spent his life documenting them, and his skills will not be lost!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I could have I would. The Action is never ending, the plot beliveable, just a great action story of Super Heroe's gone bad and a small rag tag band seeking to end their Reign and restore peace.

If you think ghosts are only responsible for hauntings, think again. The Demonologist reveals the grave religious process behind supernatural events and how it can happen to you. Used as a text in seminaries and classrooms, this is one book you can't put down. For over five decades, Ed and Loraine Warren have been considered America's foremost experts on demonology and exorcism. With over 3,000 investigations to their credit, they reveal what actually breaks the peace in haunted houses. Don't miss the Warrens in the new blockbuster movie The Conjuring.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Demonologist to be better than the print version?

I saw 'The Conjuring' and wanted to know more. I am just that way, factual, investigative and seeking evidence. I also love a good story, and this one didn't fail. Part 'Campfire Scary' part 'Holy Crap, I will never look at an Ouija Borad again' scary. I ended up listening to this along my commute, not quite wanting to listen to this at night.

But in the end, I didn't finish it. Oh it was interesting for sure, but 'Demon Cars along icy roads racing into us' said to me 'Not a Ghost or 'Non Human Spirit' but immagination gone a bit to far.

But still, case studies don't lie, history is there, something is there.

I grappled with the 'Physcial' Part of Energy being able to focus, why can a spirit pull a girl by her hair but you can't touch or see what is doing this. But facts are facts and again, something is doing something out there. Just as I can't see infrared, i am sure that it does exist.

The book was definately more detailed than the movie 'The Conjuring' and mystery surrounds all their case studies. Why they keep a room with so much evil objects is beyond me.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't finish this book out of boredom. I almost never, ever quit a book before the end. I guess as a super postive guy, the very thought of all that Evil, especially at night was just to much to keep putting into my brain.

Dont' take this book lightly. After so much of this book, it makes sense. Why do normal people snap and go on murdering rampage, are so evil to rape, but later not realize why they 'Snaped' Is it the Army of the Fallen Angels that lined up with Satan, eternally corrupting those who seek their dark powers, are full of hate etc.

I just wish there was a companion book 'Angel's among us' that show how great some people truly are, from Mother Teresa, Ghandi, suvirors of the Boston Marathon, such as Lance Benson, who ran the race with no legs. Surely Angels inhabit us just as easily as Demons.

So in the end, super scary because it is real, so real you don't want to pull out a Oujia Board and say 'Talk to me, is there anyone there'

I dare you, after reading this book, I double dog dare you!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ed and Lorraine both. I truly belive they can tap into these forces of the spirit world.

What does Todd Haberkorn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It was good audio reading, it kept me listening, engaged.

If you could give The Demonologist a new subtitle, what would it be?

The Devil or God, choose a side, else it be choosen for you. I kid but this point rang true. Be Positive and good things come (I know, I am and they do) but be negative, run to this negative energy and what do you expect will happen.

    Any additional comments?

One of the most fascinating books I couldn't finish..or didn't dare to finish. Read it, you will sew what I mean when you read this book.

What did you love best about The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks?

A True Story, often so better than Fiction. How the story was woven from historical to modern day, allowing the family views to the scientiest. It was a wonderful read who I would recommend everyone read. Why? It shows no matter how small, one person can change the world for the better!

Imagine never Knowing your mother. I had that experaince but at least at 18 I had a chance to meet her before she died shortly after. Deborah never had this, was shuffed to a horrible home, beaten and abused. As she emerged in Adult life, this haunted her.

This story allower to get to know her past, her future and bonded a family in one purpose, the get the credit due to one amazing Mother.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks?

The ugly truth behind the Black Communities medical testing. Cruel, Horrible to Heroic at times.

Have you listened to any of Cassandra Campbell and Bahni Turpin ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The reader was just fantastic, one of my favorite so far.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The Death of Deborah, especially as explained in the post script. It hits home.

    Any additional comments?

Every Human Matters, have empathy for all. This was a story about a Mother a Daughter new had a chance to know, a Sister that was lost to hear. Had not this book been written, a most wonderful family line would have never been shown the light.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I was a big fan of the 'Old' Stephen King when he was pure. I had read this as a Teen. It was always one of my favorite books. Later as I got to be Audible based, I kept looking for it over 5 years until, finally the Audible Version came out!

This story is solidly based on the main characters, he weaves their story's of a Pregnant Teen, A lonely teen ager, Good Old Boy Texans and Dark Women, Men gone bad in Prision and the Devil Incarnate

Good vs Evil, the ultimate story. This book weaved the tale back and forth like a fine tapestry, the ulitmate storyline that kept me up late listening this book. It was one I couldn't leave.

So just hope you don't have 'Trashcan Man' in your area, much less a guy in Jean Jacket, leather boots and a black amulet.

Few master such a grand tale over the long run of this very long book. To me this is and will always be Stephen Kings masterpiece!

What other book might you compare The Stand to and why?

Good vs Evil ..who wins comes down to the last second of the book.

What about Grover Gardner’s performance did you like?

I had high expectations on this book. As any audible owner knows the Reader can make or break it. Grover Gardner pulled it off perfectly.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

To many to list, but I am a sucker for a good ending. This one has some very sad moments in it, but any good story does!

    Any additional comments?

Finally Stephen King....what took you so long to release this book to Audible!

So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much.
