If it's not obvious from my other posts regarding the New Species series, I'm a HUGE fan! I've enjoyed each book, but, there's something about WRATH that tickled my fancy in just the right way! Each book has the same basic concept more or less, but, this one stands out to me because Wrath was so incredibly loveable and I just melted as he and Lauren's relationship developed. I'm also really looking forward to Shadow's book--I think its book 8 or 9--and yes, I've pre-ordered them all! As has been the norm in the Species books there was a healthy dose of humor and hotness, and these books can't be released fast enough for me. I'm totally consumed and loving every minute!
Why did I take so long to get this book!?!?! I'd seen the multitude of positive reviews for the series but it just wasn't speaking to me for some reason. Finally, THANKFULLY, I decided to check it out, and what a stunner it turned out to be! Vampire Wrath gets completely turned upside down when he decides to help half-vampire Beth go through her transition to full vampire, and from the moment they meet, it was smoking hot like fire. I was thoroughly enthralled. Maybe it was the narrator, or the sizzling sex scenes between Wrath and Beth that made my ears catch fire--but, right now, all I want is a marathon of back to back BDB!!
I've listened to several vampire/paranormal romance series and I love them, but, the BDB has got to be like "the Godfather" of this genre. 5 well deserved stars!
I didn't want this story to end. When a book makes me feel like I would love to know the characters in real life--it's a winner! This book totally made me want to join a dojo, start a little rope play, and let the Sensei have his way. This conclusion to Bound was Ronin truly coming completely undone for Amery. There was action, betrayal, angry-crazy fanatical parents, and even more hot and steamy romance igniting between these two--it was perfection in many ways.
Luke Daniels as the narrator was awesome, I could take a little more of him any day of the week. This is not a standalone book, so as soon as you read this review, download book 1 and 2 because you'll be hooked.
I REEEAALLLLY enjoyed this book! Ronin Black was some kind of man indeed--mysterious, sexy, dominant, and I wanted to melt on demand when he would tap into that tender side. This was a great story that teeters on the edge of dom/sub but not in the way some other stories have portrayed this lifestyle. Amery is sassy and coming into her own after living a very vanilla life, when she meets Ronin, who rocks the living daylights out of her world!
Sometimes erotic romance novels don't have a really well developed plot, but, this was quite the opposite in my opinion. I couldn't stop listening. I was intrigued by both Ronin and Amery, and oddly, Rachel Vivette's interesting narration. She has a different type of voice and even the pace of her narration is different than most, but it really worked for both the female and male leads.
I'm so glad I got this book, it was my first Lorelei James purchase and I was thoroughly impressed; I'm starting book 2 as we speak...
You know how there are 'teasers' of future stories/spin offs that are written into a book within a series? Well, the teaser for this story had me more riveted than the full story! I'm exaggerating a bit, but, I think it could've been better. The narrators left a lot to be desired and I think that frustrated me at times, especially Harlow's narrator--it was like she'd just learned how to read & speak. Grant's narrator was decent but had a lot of angst and added dramatics in his voice when it seemed totally unwarranted. Now that I've made you completely disinterested :) I should say that, I'm a sucker for these characters and can't wait for the next book, however, to my dismay, yet again, Abbi Glines gave us a FREAKING CLIFFHANGER! I really think the conclusion to Grant's and Harlow's story will be really good, because I'm hoping Grant will grow a pair and just love Harlow the way she deserves.
This was the perfect book for a weekend 'audible rendezvous'. Short, sweet, and just a bit sassy. I wanted to listen to something somewhat lightweight and romantic, and this totally hit the spot. #1 Xe Sands' smoky-smooth-sultry voice is a little intoxicating so that was really enough to put me into a trance which is just what I need after a long week. The storyline is a little predictable, but, it was interesting and funny enough to keep me listening and willing to buy the next one in the series. Looking forward to the next!
After KA's Dream Man series, I knew I'd buy anything this author put out. If you haven't listened to that series, I'd encourage starting there, at least, Kane's story, just for perspective. This spin off of Chaos MC has so much potential with all the interesting bikers and the unique storylines that can be developed. Tabby was a force to be reckoned with in Kane's story so I knew this one would be a winner. I wasn't a fan of the narrator, but, the content and the romance factor of this book definitely supersedes mediocre voice characterization. I loved how much Shy and Tabby loved each other from the very beginning, even if they were in denial. If you love motorcycle romance, this should be at the top of your purchase list!
OMG, what went wrong with this story?!?! The only saving grace was the epilogue. The first 6 hours of this book I mentally tried to speed it up to get through the agonizing storyline and get to the point, and finally the epilogue begins and I was laughing out loud until the credits. Charlotte Penfield's voice was like a sedative. It may have been her pace rather than her actual voice, or maybe the combination of the two. I LOVED the first book, in fact I listened to it twice, so disappointment is an understatement for what I felt throughout the majority of this book.
The first book was good enough that I'm not totally deterred from this author, but, I'll probably wait for a sale.
I'm so completely sold on this MC!! This was an excellent follow up to the first book. You've gotta love a tough guy that steps in to be a provider and handle business when necessary, so I was totally in love with Ruger from the start. I was equally excited that Tatiana Sokolov was narrating. Haberkorn--he was kind of 'meh', I've heard better, but Sokolov's 'biker gruff' adds that little extra something for me. So far, it seems that there are a host of other interesting characters which hopefully is an indication that there will be more books to come SOON! Reaper's MC will continue to be an automatic purchase for me, loved it!
I love these little Abbi Glines stories. I didn't think I would be this into them, but, I've kept coming back for more. I finally determined what they remind me of, and it's more than just an R-rated After School special, it's Beverly Hills 90210--the Southern version! Young, rich and beautiful.
Although some of the decisions are very immature, the characters are definitely grown and engaging in grown up matters that's for sure. Della and Woods have a rough go at their relationship, with Della trying to overcome her past and find her own strength. Ultimately the two make it, but, not without some trials. The supporting characters definitely add content and opportunity for multiple spin offs and I'm probably going to buy each one. The sex is pretty hot as well--BONUS!
This would be at least 4.5 stars if the female narrator was better, but, Sebastian York makes up for anything Elizabeth Louise is lacking!
This was a great leisurely weekend type of romance. Not too long, interesting characters, good narration--especially the main character Greg, total hottie! and I found myself laughing out loud several times throughout. Looking forward to starting book 2.
