This was an excellent follow up to book one. I had lukewarm feelings about the first book, but I was intrigued enough to want book 2...well, now I'm completely hooked! This second book serves up great sex (of course), and still has that suspense that book 1 had as the mystery that is Damien Stark unfolds. I enjoyed Nikki and Damien's relationship much more this time and I'm looking forward to listening to Complete Me.
This series has staying power! It's your classic romance with an array of eclectic characters that will keep you coming back for more. The narration is exceptional, and if you don't feel all warm and fuzzy at the end of the Laurel Heights books there's no hope!
This was a fun book; it had all the characteristics I've come to know and love about Kristen Ashley books--humor, a little danger, and a whole heap of sexy alpha males to go around. [Dream Man series--check it out!] Rock Chick delves into the life of another character introduced in the DM series; Indy and Lee were childhood mates, and for me, that made their eventual romance one of the sweetest. All the mystery and intrigue that made Lee such a badboy was the perfect balance to Indy's carefree "all out there, take life by the you know what, and LIVE!" attitude.
There were a ton of characters in this story so I can see how there are several spin-offs. I would recommend this for a credit or outright purchase. My one concern is regarding the next installment. There's a snippet of the next book at the end and I was almost asleep after listening--BIG SNORE--I hope that was just a fluke because I really enjoyed this first one and highly recommend it!
This is a great quickie escape of the continued antics of Drew and the other cast of quirky characters. Best of all, the great narration of Sebastian York. If for no other reason than to let that man cater to your ears, this book is definitely worth a listen!
I didn't bother to read the description of this book before pre-ordering with my credit. Didn't feel it was necessary because future books by Jodi Ellen Malpas became an instant purchase after THIS MAN. I know that series wasn't for everyone but, I couldn't get enough of "Central Jesse Cloud Nine"! Of course I compared ONE NIGHT to THIS MAN, and initially I thought, hmmm ok, good effort but not as intense and raucous, which ultimately was perfect--One Night was like a slow burn and I loved it.
As much as I enjoyed this book, I wasn't sure where the story was going for the longest, I didn't understand Miller's fascination with Olivia, and for a minute, my favorite character was octogenarian Nan! It was just at the point when these two finally got together for the one night, that all Miller's cards started to show and it just got better and better.
Don't be deterred by the similarities to THIS MAN; its different enough to put it in it's own class of sexiness that I highly recommend if you're into 'dark romance' as I like to coin it.
This much anticipated book in the IAD series was nothing less than perfect! This isn't a spoiler, but there's a line in the book referencing an "EPIC STORY" and I agree 100%. I thoroughly enjoy how characters from previous stories have little cameos, and you get a sneak peak into how their lives have evolved. I LOVED Thronos and Lanthe, they had the kind of love that was truly everlasting, with all the ups and downs that come with it. Dark Skye gives you action, romance, humor and more, and left me with a huge grin from ear to ear; I'm eagerly awaiting what happens next! This was an amazing read/listen that I highly recommend. It's best to start with the first one in the series...they're all phenomenal so it's well worth the time and credit to listen to each one.
L Dohner is the queen of shifter sexiness! Mating Brand is the 3rd in the wolf shifter series, and like it's companion books it was hot, super romantic and pretty funny, which was an added bonus. I'm also a major fan of the narrator, her voice fits the characters really well; I almost forget she's a woman when she does the male voices, and that's saying something! If you're looking for a lot of depth and realistic situations, this isn't the book for you, but it's great for strictly sexy entertainment purposes. I highly recommend this book (series), and happily spend a credit for it!
Rogue was all kinds of yummy fantasticalness!! I've officially added Grayson King to my list of the "hottest and baddest of bad boy book boyfriends". If you've read Remy, Mine & Real, wait 'til you get a gander at Grayson! This story of his and Melanie's love affair was dramatic, intense and sexual, with a touch of suspense. The banter between these two was witty and sarcastic, but endearing as they both tried to keep from being to vulnerable. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of Shayna Thibodeaux's narration, it's like listening to a poorly delivered spoken word/poetry session--not my cup of tea for 7-9 hours. The saving grace was the male narrator and the overall storyline. Grayson was definitely the gritty dark version of prince charming, and he will rock your world! I highly recommend this book, and would spend a credit on it in a heartbeat.
JR Ward is easily in my list of top favorites! I was smitten with my first introduction to her writing with the Black Dagger Brotherhood and I'm so glad I've got yet another addicting series in Fallen Angels.
Covet, the first story in the battle between good and evil was awesome! There was a bit of suspense and mystery, coupled with other worldly fantasy & romance that I really enjoyed. The characters are intriguing and left me excited about what's to come. Ward blends the human/paranormal thing like a pro. The narration was good, although I compared it to the BDB the whole time expecting the voice characterization range that Jim Frangione had, nonetheless, Dove did a respectable job.
I'm all in with this series, and highly recommend it as a total credit worthy purchase!
Wow, the reviews on this are at both ends of the spectrum and I suppose I'm right in the middle on Accidental Seal. It was like the author only had cheesy B-movies as a frame of reference and stereotypical locker room banter as a sample dialogue. There were moments of potential because the story itself was good but before a chapter was concluded, it would hover dangerously close to "oh c'mon!!! seriously?!?!" It took me forever to finish it, and that's completely atypical for me. The hot sex was probably the best part of the book, but then here comes the narrator with a voice the equivalent of a robot with really bad accents. I briefly considered getting the next book in the series, but, I can't take the narrator and the amateur hour writing.
First of all, anyone named Valentine totally belongs in a story like these Kate Perry books. Tamed By You is a story of the matchmaker meeting her match. Ethan and Valentine on the surface are total opposites but are drawn together through a series of random moments that began back in book 6. I liked everything about Ethan--strong, brooding and sexy--Yum!
The only negative was Valentine's mom; such a buzzkill. Also, I wouldn't have minded if the story was a little longer. Things felt rushed for the first time in the series. Despite this, I will certainly buy the next one, and the next one after that. Fingers crossed book 8 comes to Audible soon!
