This book was PHENOMENAL! I thoroughly enjoyed every second of book 2 in the Blackstone series. Shane East---Ohhhhh Lordy is he an AWESOME narrator! His voice is ridiculous--in the best possible way. This second book is even better than the first, and I cannot wait to hear what happens next with Ethan and Brynne in book 3--which I've pre-ordered already. I know it's fiction but, I am always "smitten" by these great male leads in the books I listen to, and Ethan is definitely in my swoon-worthy category of male lead characters. He's flawed, possessive, with a smidge of crazy, but, I love it! The humor that is infused throughout the book had me laughing out loud, and the intensity of their relationship made me hang on every word until the end. This is without a doubt credit worthy or just buy the whole trilogy outright, you will not be disappointed.
Wow this was super hot, I loved every minute of it. The book's summary wasn't intriguing enough for me to purchase it, but, I've enjoyed Dohner's other series so I figured I could risk it. I listened in one sitting--I was THAT hooked. If you want a story with a ton of depth, this isn't the one for you, but, if you're open to a bit of fantasy, seriously hot shifter sex, and definitely a lot of sarcasm, innuendo and humor, don't even read the rest of my review--'add to cart' immediately!
This Pride series is seriously cuckoo, and so is the narration somewhat, but, I'm oddly enthralled by the stories. This one was really funny--especially the antics of Mitch and Brendan. Loch was a great introduction to Bear shifters, which was a first for me but definitely won't be the last! There's a little crazy, a little action, and some good ole animal loving all rolled up into this series. My interest is peaked to see what happens next with this crazy pack of shifters.
I love the Alpha Pack! I hadn't given Zander much thought in previous books, but, what a sweetie he turned out to be! Zander finds his mate through a very different manner than the previous pack members, which was a nice change. Some other new aspects to the series included the introduction of a few new characters that are interesting enough to possibly have a book in the future--fingers crossed! Also, I like where things seem to be heading for Nick, who plays a significant role in this installment.
If you haven't listened to the other books, I'd encourage you to do so--books 1 & 2 remain my favorites, with book 3 really being an emotional whirlwind. Nonetheless, all the stories are great and are worthy of a credit. I had a lukewarm reaction to book 4, so I'm really glad this installment was significantly better than the last. Great series, great author, and hopefully there's many more to come.
Yet another winner in the sweet romance niche that Abbi Glines has perfected. I loved Woods when he was introduced in the 'Fallen' series, so I was eager to hear his story. I wasn't disappointed in the least. In all honesty, I was super excited that Sebastian York was the narrator---his voice added another layer of yum to Woods' appeal. Della was a sweet character and despite her really tragic childhood, she and Woods find a special love. Probably the main gripe I have is the female narrator, she should probably retire from voiceover work.
Looking forward to hearing what happens next for Della and Woods!
I've had mixed feelings about this series the whole way through, but, still I've enjoyed it. I recommend this to those that like YA with a little extra 'steam' in the romance department. Forever Too Far is the final chapter in the Rush & Blair saga. With this third installment I'm accustomed to Blair's semi-sad, sappy sweet southern voice, and the addition of a male narrator was very welcome. In terms of content, I really loved the direction of the story, especially the last few chapters--I was melting *SIGH*
The supporting characters have also snagged my interest, so although I probably wouldn't spend a credit on these books, I'm definitely buying some of the other books from Glines--you can't beat a sweet romance, and she does it well.
Kresley Cole totally has this genre of paranormal romance on lock! Yet again, she's crafted an action packed, hilarious, sexy tale about the seriously HOT other-worldly beings. I'm not sure why some of these books have been released out of sequence, but, they are so expertly woven together, its not an issue. I love love love Garrett Macrieve--super hot sexy beast that he is--and of course, Petkoff's narration is superb as usual. This will continue to be one of my favorite series, and I highly recommend it without question.
When I started this book I wasn't sure I would make it through to the end---I wasn't immediately a fan of the main character Ronnie, and the narrator was kind of grating on my nerves in the voice of Ronnie--but, I hunkered down and listened on! Surprisingly, I enjoyed the story. Ronnie's stank attitude...it was a little over the top and needed a little more vulnerability to make her truly likable, however, Kale on the other hand was a great alpha male that helped make the story more enjoyable. I was totally in love with him by the end, such a catch!
I wouldn't say this is credit worthy, but definitely worth purchasing on sale. Steamy sex and a take charge alpha male that's worthy of each of the 4 stars I'm giving it.
This was a cute little romance. Overall, it's an easy weekend listen about young love, betrayal, and the fallout from poor decisions. The narration was mediocre at points---sometimes their 'southern' or 'country' accents were a bit forced, but it didn't take too much away from the story. Compared to the other books by M. Leighton, this was significantly more tame. I enjoyed it and will probably get the other two in the series. I wouldn't say this is credit worthy, but definitely worth buying if on sale.
I've loved every new species book since I heard the first one, but that came to a screeching halt with Moon. What a snoozefest! I was totally shocked. It's a given that all the New Species books have the same concept more or less, but Dohner has been really good about finding different angles to tell the same story. There's always humor, hot sex, etc. but this time around not only was there minimal humor, but the story in and of itself was just missing something. It seemed like a short story that was stretched to eight hours by adding random filler that should've been edited out. All that said, I do love this series and I will definitely buy the next book and many more from Laurann Dohner. She's a great erotic romance writer and the narrators of her series have been good. Despite my lukewarm review of Moon, this is definitely a series I'd recommend for the weekend listener looking for an interesting take on semi-paranormal erotic romance.
This is SO one of my favorite books! I've loved all of the Dream Man series but this one was particularly good. Sometimes you're in the mood for a really well balanced story that has a little bit of everything that makes a story great. Motorcycle Man is it.
I love the men that Kristen Ashley comes up with for these stories, but, Tyra was so cool, she and Tack made an awesome duo and I enjoyed every moment of their love story. Although this could be a stand alone book, I'd get the other three because they are just as good. Very credit worthy book!
