"Inspiration blended with education= Transformation"
This story is for anybody who wants to unlock their own inner potential. There are elements of Rich's story that each of us can relate to and find inspiration within. I am an 18X marathon finisher, after tearing my Achilles tendon a couple of years ago, I lost my desire to run. Now I'm running again and learning to eat healthy (and this book) are my catalysts to change. Thank you Rich Roll!

"This is real. I know, I've been there."
With such excellent narration as was performed by Dave Johnson, I always prefer the audio edition because I listen while I run each day.

The parts of the book that dealt with the sometimes extreme politics within the volunteer fire departments really hit home with me. As a volunteer firefighter myself, I can tell you that petty politics play a major role in an otherwise completely altruistic effort. Non-firefighters will also come to appreciate the emotions of the volunteer firefighter who, all too often has to leave his family or his work to answer the call of duty. It's a strange combination of adrenaline, guilt and satisfaction.
"Your running shoe budget is going to go up!"
Yes, I would absolutley recommend this book to all of my running friends. We've all gotten too accustomed to the 5k or 10k run. Even those of us who have conquered the marathon seem to be preprogrammed to stop when the race is over. What if we just kept on running? Dean's book gives us some insight into that "what if" question.
Dean Karnazes comes across as if he could be any one of us. He's just a regular guy, well, sort of.
First time I've listened to James Yaegashi. He did an excellent job. No complaints what-so-ever. I'll be loooking forward to his next narration!
Almost made me laugh myself off of the tread-mill a couple of times.
Listening to this book seems to give you license to remove the mental limits to what you can achieve in a pair of running shoes!
