Even in Grundy, Alaska, its unusual to find a naked guy with a bear trap clamped to his ankle on your porch. But when said guy turns into a wolf, recent southern transplant Mo Wenstein has no difficulty identifying the problem.

This was the first Molly Harper book I read and after reading it, I knew Molly would be an author I read again. I loved that Mo was from my hometown in little ole MS. That is something you definitely don't hear everyday. Also, I can't say enough great things about the narrator, Amanda Ronconi. The fact that she actually do a believable southern accent is a huge plus but she also has great energy and keeps the story flowing. I highly recommend anything Molly Harper writes!

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Before listening to this audiobook, I had already read the series in print form around this time two years ago but kept hearing how good Davina was as narrator. So when I listened to a sample of the book, I thought she sounded a little older than I imagined Claire to sound like. So I put off getting the audiobooks for a while for this reason. Because in my experience, a less than stellar narrator can make or break a book. If this is you, then don't let that stop you from getting this book because I was so wrong! Davina was born to read these books and I can't imagine listening to anyone else read the series. She does wonderfully with all the accents and brings the book to life. I am currently on my second read, this time with all the audiobooks.

Overall this book was a good, maybe not great story but nonetheless, it was interesting and with David Tennant narrating, even better. He was able to make Mickey and Rose come to life for me. I can say that I would listen to it again.

Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

  • Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men: Jane Jameson, Book 2

Once a devoted children's librarian, Jane Jameson now works at a rundown occult bookstore. Once a regular gal, she's now a vampire. And instead of a bride, she's an eternal bridesmaid -- which leads her to question where exactly her relationship with her irresistibly sexy sire, Gabriel, is headed. Mercurial, enigmatic, apparently commitment-phobic vampires are nothing if not hard to read.

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead.
