"Pleasant read"
I selected this book because it was read by James Marsters and I wasn't disappointed, he reads beautifully and I didn't want to stop listening. Storyline was unique compared to other paranormal fantasy which made it even more enjoyable.
"Glad its over"
I'm glad the story is over, it had become tiresome listening to moaning characters over and over, the story in its entirity (from the first book) is interesting but the ending was lack lustre.
"Realistic Film Noir reading"
I could picture every moment, the clarity of picturing the unique environment created was stunning, the story moved a little too slowly for me and I'm not sure I will bother with part 2.
"Monster Hunter part 2 - just as good, maybe better"
A jolly good action read
Monster Hunter International
He sounded less like a transvestite during the female speaking parts
"Contradictions with a Gun"
If I had a print copy to read, this wouldn't have last long, it makes a mean audio book. Oliver Wyman's narration is, with only the minor issue of making all the women characters sound like transvestites.
If I was reading this book my eyes would have blurred and skipped over the long gun explanations and fight scenes, I can hear myself already "yeah yeah, big fight, but we know he's gonna win so lets skip to that", now this internal dialog is exactly why audiobooks are great, I really felt every blow and bullet and there was some actual dodging while listening.
Overall an excellent listen, not quite Harry Dresden level (which to date is the best I've ever listened too), but worth purchasing.
Yes, already bought part 2, I gotta know what happens.
Earl Harbinger, he sounded unique to the others, an isolated difference.
It was great listening to with others, the storyline wasn't hard to pick up so I could turn this on in the car and it was enjoyed by all.
