"Excellent Great story and Narration."
I read this book 20 years ago and really liked it. I felt enough time had passed that it wouldn't be boring. Glad to say I was right.
If you like Heinlen you'll love this book, it's a great story and brings up many fascinating concepts.
The narration is excellent. The narrator does a great job of playing the different characters.
This is a must listen for science fiction fans.
"This series will be done in the year 3010"
The Author has decided to cash in on his success and keep the story so slow moving that he'll be putting out books in the year 3010. I slid him a break on his last book but this one is even slower.
My next listen will be from an Author who has a story that moves.
I thought the performance was fine.
Yes I can imagine the Author banking his millions and wish I was him
I loved the first books, but this guy has become worse than Stephen King. He needs an editor. And he needs to get the story moving again.
This is the last Martin book I'll ever read.
"Long and Boring"
I was very disappointed there were so many popular reviews for this Audio Presentation and it turned out to be so bad.
I quit after around 4 hours. I just found it boring. At the point I left they were concentrating on character number 4 or was it 5.
Mind you I liked the Keven J Anderson "Saga of Seven Suns series" which also had a myriad of characters.
So I'm not adverse to books with a number of different character stories that combine into one.
I just didn't like this book, it was so darned slow. The narrator was dry too.
Try listening to a sample first to make sure that you don't find the voice grating like I did..
After I've listened to every other book I've ever bought a second time. Maybe I'll try to slog through the rest of the book.
Luckily it was only $5.00 so it's not worth the bother to try for a refund.
"From Cyberpunk to Phantasy good transition."
Like many the gay stuff put me off a little. But really the gay part is a very small part of a long and exciting book.
I've listened to all of Morgans CyberPunk books and he's made the switch to fantasy very well.
Lots of swashbuckling action and intriguing characters.
The hero has feet of clay which makes it even more interesting.
The narrator is British so I'd suggest that you listen to a excerpt first as his accent might annoy some.
He wasn't bad but I would have preferred the narrator from the previous Morgan books.
I still gave this a 5 star as I couldn't put this down.
"Excellent-History Comes Alive"
Fans of Kathleen Mccollough "1st Man in Rome " series will love this book. The author makes history come alive, lot's of political intrigue.
The narrator was perfect too.
