Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly 20 years ago.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

i heard about this book, read the review and then i listened to it.i was so disappointed. almost all of the book is about how mitch felt and what he did. what about the wisdom of morrie ? more then half of the book is something like: on the second meeting we talk about life. on the third meeting we talked about friendship. great ! but, what did he said ? most of the time, mitch just say what was the topic of the meeting and thats it.

Has Tuesdays with Morrie turned you off from other books in this genre?

Jack Torrance's new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote...and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.

The season of gift-giving is here, and this year we've got something special for our members: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Yuletide whodunit "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle". In this holiday-themed short story, Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick, Dr. Watson, follow the trail of a lost hat and a Christmas goose through the streets of London and into a rapidly expanding mystery.

Would you try another book from Arthur Conan Doyle and/or Alan Cumming?

i gave up after 5 min. the narrated read this book so fast that i couldn't understand anything. i was so surprised that i actually checked the settings of my ipod to see if something was wrong with it.

What didn’t you like about Alan Cumming’s performance?

i think some one chased him while he was reading this book.
