Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Dan of course. Because he's a fellow alcoholic

Not as good as The Shining, yet what could come close, Stephen King accomplished.

When NYPD Red arrives at a crime scene, everyone takes notice. Known as the protectors of the rich, famous, and connected, NYPD Red is the elite task force called in only for New York City's most high-profile crimes. And Detective Zach Jordan is the best of the best, a brilliant and relentless pursuer of justice. He puts professionalism above all, ignoring his feelings for his partner, Detective Kylie MacDonald, the woman who broke his heart when they first met in the academy.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book. It is somewhat of a short read but kept my attention.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I wasn't necessarily in the edge of my seat after I had figured out the ending before it happened. The only reason I didn't give it five stars. Not going to be a classic or anything like that. Just some good tension.

What does Edoardo Ballerini and Jay Snyder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I definitely enjoyed the two performers.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    That would be a spoiler.

Michael Crichton is an excellent writer. This is not a sci-fi book, rather it is a drama/thriller. I enjoyed very much but it had a couple loose ends which I will not disclose hence writing a spoiler. This is a 4 star book. It is not a classic, but it does keep your attention and with a great performance by Frances Cassidy. I would recommend this for a nice comfortable read. Not a bad way to spend a weekend.

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Harlan Coben set huge sales records with last year’s Six Years - and he’s poised to do it again in his next breathtaking stand-alone thriller. Harlan Coben, author of six consecutive instant number-one New York Times best sellers and a total of 24 award-winning, best-selling, and internationally acclaimed novels, returns with another ripped-from-real-life thriller full of impossibly high emotional stakes and the real-to-life characters for which he has become famous.

This story was neatly put out. I had figured it most out from about a third into the book. So I wasn't in for many surprises. A bit predictable yet still entertaining. After you've read enough if these books you may want to be challenged a little more. The narration was excellent. Overall it wasn't a bad book. But it was by no means a classic.

This is the first book of NYPD RED and I can't wait for the release of the second one. The two narrators were superb in their depiction of the major characters. Though it is shorter than I am used to, this novel in non stop action. I highly recommend this audiobook.

I enjoyed this book. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that it was not exceptional. Jack Reacher is a character that I got to know in the first book, Killing Floor. I bought this one right after I read the first. I probably should have gone back to another series first, then purchase the book. It is definitely its own story. The backround from the first book was not as important as I thought it should have been. If you aren't familiar with Jack, go ahead and buy this. I'm sure I will buy more in the future. But I need a little break from the Reacher series.

But I really like the style of Lee Child. His writing is very compelling and wants you to read more and more.

I was very impressed by the style of writing from this author. It read like a movie script. The character of Jack Reacher has been established firmly. I am looking forward to listening to the next novel in the series, which looks very expansive. The Narration was one of the best I've heard.

Thom and Jennifer Harlow are the perfect couple, with three perfect children. They maybe two of the biggest mega movie stars in the world, but they're also great parents, philanthropists, and just all-around good people. When they disappear without a word from their ranch, facts are hard to find. They live behind such a high wall of security and image control that even world-renowned Private Investigator Jack Morgan can't get to the truth.

I enjoyed this audio book very much, but did not know that this came from a series. I felt as if I was walking into the middle of a conversation. Characters and relationships had already been defined. That being said, It seemed like a few novels going on at the same time, totally unrelated. I don't want to give any spoilers though.
For the most part this novel was engaging and had me wanting more. I read it in two days. I enjoyed the writing very much and the narrator was very good. Though I do not feel like going back to other past novels to "catch up". I would like to hear more though. Continuing this story.

As the cold returns, sinister forces are massing beyond the protective wall of the kingdom of Winterfell. To the south, the king's powers are failing, with his most trusted advisor mysteriously dead and enemies emerging from the throne's shadow.

I never watched The Game of Thrones on HBO...and I am glad. It was though this book that I was introduced to this new world. I loved the performance of the Narrator. He allowed me to picture each character as it was written and how I have come to envision it for myself. This is the charm of audiobooks. The storytelling was of immense proportions. I compare it to Lord of the Rings. It has it's own map and kingdoms and kings, and queens. I look forward to the next "chapter" in this epic tale . Listening to this book was difficult at first; getting to know all the characters. But it was well worth the effort. I highly recommend this audiobook!

In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.
