Breakfast at Darcy's was an enjoyable light novel. I purchased this after reading Ali McNamara's other novel from "Notting Hill to New York Actually" which I really enjoyed. The setting for this novel on a remote island off the coast of Ireland is different. I found the story interesting but felt there could have been more detail on the roles the people coming to live on the island were going to play. There were areas for instance, Darcy going to buy chocolate at the shop, what shop? In the planning for the island settlement there had been no mention of the shop. I would have preferred a bit more detail, however having said that I really enjoyed the book it was light and a bit different.
I loved the way the author bought the characters to life I felt you really got to know and like them.
I couldn't compare it with other chic lit novels this was not your usual romance more of an light interesting story with a touch of romance.
Beth Chalmer's performance was fine. I have not heard her other performances.
I am not sure this title was the right one. I feel it implies Darcy may have run a cafe or something. What else to call it? I do not know.
I love Milly Johnson books just buy them as they become available. This one however was okay but probably the least favourite of all her books.
Here Come the Girls was great I listened to it quite a few times but this one
definitely is a once only listen.
I enjoyed the first book in this series but this was so far fetched it was ridiculous.
Who buys a house on the spot and can move in same day no matter how much money he had.
The sex scenes could have been cut by half or at least varied a bit so repetitive in the terrible breathy voice the narrator had. The book was very repetitive you could skip chapters and pick up where you left off. I skimmed thru this book.
I love anything Penny Vincenzi writes but this was so worth reading. Good story great narrater. Well worth it.
This was a fun highly unbelievable story but I loved it. I have purchased the next in series hope it is as good as this one.
This is another of Catherine Bybee's books which I enjoyed. Just a light fun book.
I have purchased all her books and enjoyed them all.
Good narration everytime which for me makes the book.
This was another fun read by this author. I have enjoyed every one of her books.
I have read this series enjoyed each one of Catherine Bybee's books
a different storyline just fun books.
Loved this book just a fun read I went and purchased the rest of her series and they were all fabulous holiday reads.
Beauty Queen the second book is just great. I loved Material Girl so purchased this book and I think it is even better. Loved Rebecca and Mat and how the story panned out.
I have purchased the next book but have not read that yet if it is as good as the first two it will be great.
Well worth a read.
I have continued to buy almost every Danielle Steel book on audible. I loved The Sins of the Mother one of my favourites however it is very hit and miss now if they are good or a waste of time. To me this book was that. I cannot get past the first two chapters. There is just nothing to keep my interest the story is boring. The narrater is possibly the worst choice for any book. He sounds as if he is almost asleep his monotone voice with no expression is just not suitable.
I cannot understand along with many others comments on Danielle Steel reviews why Audible choose men for her books. The occasional male voice has worked for me but I find a female voice suits this type of book so much more.
I think I am done on her books after this one and the last one which I did not buy just listening to the preview was bad enough.
Danielle Steel books used to be a given you would enjoy them now it is just hit and miss. There are so many better authors out there now who are writing good books.
