"Very enjoyable"
I have followed the series and this helped in my enjoyment. I found towards the end it felt a bit extended and wordy but all in all a very enjoyable story and the Mary Russell, Sherlock interaction very believable. Definitely recommended and fills in a lot of gaps in the Mary Russell story.
"Delightful"
A story that never seems to become dated. I find myself chuckling and wincing as the letters point out my blind spots. Not even particularly a Christian but still thoroughly enjoy this book. Very recommended. Enjoyed the narrators voice as well.
"Very, very dark"
I am a major Scott Card fan and this is the first time I've been unable to finish. Still beautifully written but I found myself wincing and unable to stay in that space. I did read lots of reviews on Amazon who really enjoy this, but be aware it is a very dark and coarse fairy tale. Still a Card fan but will not finish this.
"Great Story"
Great story. A standard hero quest but very enjoyable to listen to and I found myself caring about the characters. It built well upon Eragon and I'm looking forward to the next book. I found myself admiring the narrator more and more as the book went on he did an excellent job. I think this is one story best heard, I agree with another reviewer this may have been a bit heavy reading, but being able to relax and enjoy the ride was perfect. Good job and definitely will finish out the series when it is done.
