Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett: He was the handsome Academy Award-nominated star of Paper Moon and the classic romance Love Story. She was the beautiful, all-American Charlie’s Angel, whose poster adorned the bedroom walls of teenage boys everywhere. One of the most storied love affairs in Hollywood history, their romance has captivated fans and media alike for more than three decades.

    Story
Would you consider the audio edition of Both of Us to be better than the print version?

Yes, because you get the author's intended emotions from the voice version. But, I found Ryan's way of reading to be somewhat distracting, as he pauses at the stangest times in sentences. Other than that I did like the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Farrah, because I learned things about her that made her more of a down to earth person.

Did Ryan O'Neal do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

He stayed within one voice all the time, but he used the correct references to tell you who said what.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The Rocky Love Story of Fame

    Any additional comments?

He told a story of love and the pain fame can bring. He also told about his inability to be a good parent because of his own narcissistic drive. If you didn't like Tatum O'Neal before this book, you certainly won't like her now. Tatum and Ryan certainly are child and parent.

What made the experience of listening to Love Comes Softly the most enjoyable?

Knowing that the man in the story would remain honorable throughout and abide by God's laws and his new wife's wishes.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Love Comes Softly?

When Marty realized she loved Clark.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Used a more youthful sounding voice because Marty is a very young woman.

Who was the most memorable character of Love Comes Softly and why?

Marty because you could sense her growing as person in many ways and her discovery that God does take care of her even when she thinks He's not. But I found Clark just as fascinating because he was steadfast in his word to Marty about the train back to her home and his desire to secure a mother for Missy.

    Any additional comments?

I am now listening to part 2 of the story Love's Enduring Journey and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

By the time Shania Twain was two, her parents had divorced, and by early childhood, her family of seven was often without food, at times living in a filthy one-bedroom apartment. But when her mother and stepfather were tragically killed in an automobile accident when she was 22, Shania knew that the only way to lift her family out of poverty was to use her God-given singing talent. At an age when most young people have only themselves to think about, Shania moved her entire family to a nearby resort where she began performing, supporting her younger brothers and sisters.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not time well spent. Shania gives the impression she is the only person to ever have been cheated on in marriage. Best friends cheat with spouses all the time. I didn't learn anything new about her except that she seemed to protect her ex-husband by not saying how she felt about his part in the cheating, she constantly raged about the woman whom he cheated with. I felt that she was not facing up to reality by placing so much focus on the other woman and not sharing blame equally between the two. But, I understand she has suffered a great deal of pain and the story is to help her work through the pain the best way she can.

Would you recommend From This Moment On to your friends? Why or why not?

No. I found the narrator's voice annoying and that didn't help at all considering the repetative content of the book.

What three words best describe Shania Twain and Sherie Rene Scott ’s voice?

Love Shania's voice and I disliked Sherie's annoying, whinny voice .

Do you think From This Moment On needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No!

  • 11-22-63: A Novel

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Would you listen to 11-22-63 again? Why?

I would listen to this book again because the story is thought provoking and wonderfully entertaining.

What other book might you compare 11-22-63 to and why?

I can't think of any other book that even resembles this book because the ideas expressed in this book are rarely touched upon in the way Stephen King has written about them. You hear the JimLa chant and know that the past does not want to be changed, it will resist you, and it always makes someone pay for even the smallest of changes.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Where Jake finds his true love Sadie, and they dance yet again.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Joy at having a book so different to listen to. The story catches you up in the make believe of what's going on. If you were alive at the time of the assassination of our president, then you remember the saddness of this country and how we wished time could be turned back. But then you start to realize that the past cannot change without paying a price, and the question becomes what price are you willing to pay.

    Any additional comments?

The narrator did an amazing job with many voices to differentiate the vast cast of characters. Great job Mr. King and Mr. Wasson!
