I didn't think it possible to fall in love with Reid Alexander but did I ever. It is safe to say I loved these two more then all of the other characters combined. I know right?!

There was some surprisingly great character development that will leave you pondering life and love well after the book is done.

Favorite quote of the book is as follows, "There is no way I'm not satisfying her." HOLY CRAP!

    You're gonna love it.

This sad sorry excuse for an ending to the epic adventure that (was) this story makes me want to... what... cry? WHATEVER.

I can't even believe this was the same author.
    no thanks.

eh... whatever. This series should have been two books, the first one and this one. There was literally no need for the crud in the middle.

Perfect conclusion to an immaculate story. If you have come this far then you already know how beautiful and unbelievably creative Laini Taylor's writing is. No need to say anymore except this book will complete the story like few finales do in such a manor that you are left feeling whole and emptied out at the very same time.

    We are The God Stars.

    Best.

I really like these books but I don't love them does that make sense?

I can't pinpoint exactly why they just miss the love mark but they do. I really like these books because they are full of adventure, fear, excitement, love, and a seriously unique dystopian world. The end is great, and the writing is good.

If you like YA adventure // dystopians then definitely give this series a shot! If you have already read the pervious two then I think you will be happy with the conclusion.

Overall this series is a pretty good one. If you're looking for a distopian that is actually well written, not completely predictable (and GASP no love triangle, well not really) then I totally recommend this one.

    BUT

I seem to be the only one who didn't love the ending. I don't know... June just got so self-sacrificing and melodramatic there towards the end. Other then being a little frustrated with our heroine this conclusion was a wild ride that I am so glad I got on.

So I stand alone in not "loving" the ending but I didn't and hate it and most days thats all a girl can really ask for.

I recommend this series to lovers of "The Hunger Games" and "Divergent" obviously..

just like these two did. I don't care that their relationship is a tiny bit ridiculous and just a smidgen unrealistic. I love Katie McGarry she has a way of writing a romance that really cuts pretty deep especially for a couple of 17 year olds.

I love that her characters are always so complex and miss-understood, and we are allowed a rare look into the heart of people who hide for a living. Every time I start one of her books I can't stop until I have devoured the whole thing.

Please tell me there will be more... and who will we hear from next Abby?!?!

A fast paced wild ride you will enjoy I promise.

    YAY!

Ok so I loved this book. The story is compelling with just enough depth and the romance is the perfect mix of hot, sticky, and sweet.

Katie McGarry's book Pushing the Limits is not a must read, but would give you a different perspective on the main character before starting this one.

The male reader is eh.. alright, but the female is fantastic!

Overall I recommend Dare You To to any lover of YA fiction.

After losing his leg to a land mine in Afghanistan, Cormoran Strike is barely scraping by as a private investigator. The case plunges Strike into the world of multimillionaire beauties, rock-star boyfriends, and desperate designers, and it introduces him to every variety of pleasure, enticement, seduction, and delusion known to man.

Cuckoo's Calling (actually written by J.K Rowling) is pretty darn good. I say "pretty darn good" and not great because even though this book is not my usual haunt I still really liked it. Cuckoo's Calling is written extremely well (obviously) and kept me coming back for more. In this classic who done it I was left guessing until the very end!

I am thinking this could be a series?? Same characters new mystery.

    I am a fan.

Nicola Marter was born with a gift. When she touches an object, she sometimes glimpses those who have owned it before. When a woman arrives with a small wooden carving at the gallery Nicola works at, she can see the object’s history and knows that it was named after the Firebird - the mythical creature from an old Russian fable. Compelled to know more, Nicola follows a young girl named Anna who leads her into the past on a quest through the glittering backdrops of the Jacobites and Russian courts, unearthing a tale of love, courage, and redemption.

    I loved this book.

If that isn't enough for you allow me to elaborate. Susanna Kearsley is a great writer. She knows her stuff and her History is SPOT ON. I read The Winter Sea and liked it enough to try her second one, tried the second one and LOVED it enough to never want to read anything else ever again.

    Do you need more?

Firebird has it all, light romance, heavy history, and interesting and funny running dialogue. If you like historical fiction steeped in character development you will love this book!

BUT you must read The Winter Sea first... YOU MUST!

    Fantastic read.

History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

Winter Sea is well written and very much a Historical Fiction. I liked this book but really only liked it. The story really drags... I would say in the middle but actually it feels like it drags the whole time.

The ending was great even though you are convinced the whole time you are not going to like it. I implore you to read this book if for no other reason then it is a prerequisite for Firebird by Susanna Kearsley and Firebird is amazing.

All in all Winter Sea is a good passer of time, has a great narrator, and is a MUST read series so far!
