Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the revised edition of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy who, for the last 15 years, has been posing as an out-of-work actor.

I have listened to about 40 audiobooks in the past 2 years and this was the worst. Dr. Seuss is more intellectually stimulating than this garbage. I was embarrased to have listened to more than 2 hours of it. Please don't waste your money

Eerie, dreamlike, set in a world that is weirdly related to our own, The Gunslinger introduces Roland Deschain of Gilead, of In-World that was, as he pursues his enigmatic antagonist to the mountains that separate the desert from the Western Sea in the first volume of The Dark Tower series. Roland, the last gunslinger, is a solitary figure, perhaps accursed, who with a strange single-mindedness traverses an exhausted, almost timeless landscape of good and evil.

The story was disconnected and monotonous. It took a great amount of effort to continue listening. It is possible that the abridged version would be more enjoyable but I doubt it. The only thing worse than the story was the ending.Sorry Steve not your best work.
