Seven years ago Kaylin fled the crime-riddled streets of Nightshade, knowing that something was after her. Children were being murdered— and all had the same odd markings that mysteriously appeared on her own skin….Since then, she's learned to read, she's learned to fight and she's become one of the vaunted Hawks who patrol and police the City of Elantra. Alongside the winged Aerians and the immortal Barrani, she's made a place for herself, far from the mean streets of her birth.

What would have made Cast in Shadow better?

Imagine watching the good the bad and the ugly but only with shots of thegunfighter's eyes back and forth the whole movie. It was awful . Hours of posturing and descriptions of the charactor's eyes. Read mistborn, name of the wind, or any of the iron Druid chronicles instead!

Has Cast in Shadow turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. There are much better ones

What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?

    Voices were great!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Waste of a credit

    Any additional comments?

I have no idea why this book got good reviews .

Vydor was on a fast track to the highest-ranking position in the Imperial Navy’s security forces and was recently assigned to the senior staff of the flagship of the Navy, the Dragon Claw. All he wanted to do his entire life was to serve his god, the Emperor, and given his phenomenal performance during his training in the Naval Academy, it seemed he would be able to do just that.

Would you try another book from Vincent Trigili and/or Jack de Golia?

    No

What was most disappointing about Vincent Trigili’s story?

It had too much dialog but not much character development. The story just came together like a b-tv serial.

Have you listened to any of Jack de Golia’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The performance was very good. Sorry that the story was poor

What character would you cut from The Enemy of an Enemy?

The main character was interesting but after the first hour, all that had happened was a meeting with the ship officers. The room and The table is Described in excruciating detail but not much happened. I had to listen at 3x to get through this he book.

    Any additional comments?

This was a disappointment and not my kind of book. Try the killer victor the assassin series or the iron Druid series . Much better

For nearly 2,000 years, only one Druid has walked the Earth - Atticus O’Sullivan, the Iron Druid, whose sharp wit and sharp sword have kept him alive as he’s been pursued by a pantheon of hostile deities. Now he’s got company. Atticus’ apprentice, Granuaile, is at last a full Druid herself. What’s more, Atticus has defrosted an archdruid long ago frozen in time, a father figure (of sorts) who now goes by the modern equivalent of his old Irish name: Owen Kennedy. And Owen has some catching up to do.

If you could sum up Shattered in three words, what would they be?

    Funny, Witty, Engrossing

Who was your favorite character and why?

The new character Owen Kennedy is hilarious!. He's a perfect old cantankerous teacher.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

They are all great. I love this narrator.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book really made me laugh. The lines are so funny. Where does he GET this stuff?

    Any additional comments?

This was by far the funniest installment of the druid series.

We colonized 700 planets. Humankind enjoyed the benefits of expansion room and the end of wars. We even disbanded our military. Then the Krall found us. The Krall have used thousands of years of combat to select the genes of the strongest and fastest warriors. They are a species determined to dominate the entire galaxy, through destruction and annihilation of every opponent.

Koban is an uninhabited high-gravity planet with impossibly fast savage animals, which employ organic superconducting nerves. This deadly world is where the Krall tested humans for war capability.

What did you like best about Koban, Book 1? What did you like least?

The story was fresh but went into too much detail about every nuance of speech and body motion of each character in every dialog scene. The Narrator was awful. I have listened to almost 200 books and this guy was by far the worst. He put unnatural pauses in every sentence and emphasized the wrong words for effect. He paused after every 6-8 words, regardless of the flow of the sentences. It was almost like listening to the William Shatner Star Treck character over acting while reading the book.

I ended up listenning to the book at 3x speed and skipping many chapters to finish.

How could the performance have been better?

Get a different narrator. I'm avoiding this narrator from now on- no matter how much i like a book, this narrator will ruin it. I can't believe the producers of this audiobook allowed this to happen.

    Any additional comments?

The book is O.K. Avoid this narrator.

What did you like best about this story?

The character development was very nuanced. There are very memorable villains such as The Limper, Whisper, The hanged man, The Lady, Soul Catcher....

I would read a book Just about the Limper!

What does Marc Vietor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I had read the books before but the narration brought the characters to life.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Awesome! Got to read the whole series. OOOOOH! there are ten of them!

    Any additional comments?

This series is one of my most favorite series of all time.

Cold-blooded murder just isn't Thomas Lang's cup of tea. Offered a bundle to assassinate an American industrialist, he opts to warn the intended victim instead - a good deed that soon takes a bad turn. Quicker than he can down a shot of his favorite whiskey, Lang is bashing heads with a Buddha statue, matching wits with evil billionaires, and putting his life (among other things) in the hands of a bevy of femme fatales. Up against rogue CIA agents, wannabe terrorists, and an arms dealer looking to make a high-tech killing, Lang's out to save the leggy lady he has come to love...and prevent an international bloodbath to boot.

The beginning of the book hooks you in. He describes how one would break an arm....

Which character – as performed by Simon Prebble – was your favorite?

The Thomas Lange character was very good.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Joseph asks him if he was a good man.

Catskinner's Book is a science fiction/urban fantasy audiobook set in a surreal world unlike any that you have seen before. James Ozryck has a monster in his head. All of his life the entity that he calls Catskinner has made him a fugitive, afraid to get too close to anyone, afraid to stay in one place for too long. Catskinner kills, without compassion and without warning, and is very good at it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Catskinner. The character was so different from most fantasy characters nowadays.

    Which scene was your favorite?

There are many great scenes. I liked the Bowling alley scene and when he finds out what Godiva is. Very unexpected.

    Any additional comments?

This is different from any fantasy out there. I've read many in the last year. I just could not put this one down. The narrator is very good. I bought this book without any reviews and I am glad that I did.
