Seven years ago Kaylin fled the crime-riddled streets of Nightshade, knowing that something was after her. Children were being murdered— and all had the same odd markings that mysteriously appeared on her own skin….Since then, she's learned to read, she's learned to fight and she's become one of the vaunted Hawks who patrol and police the City of Elantra. Alongside the winged Aerians and the immortal Barrani, she's made a place for herself, far from the mean streets of her birth.

What would have made Cast in Shadow better?

Imagine watching the good the bad and the ugly but only with shots of thegunfighter's eyes back and forth the whole movie. It was awful . Hours of posturing and descriptions of the charactor's eyes. Read mistborn, name of the wind, or any of the iron Druid chronicles instead!

Has Cast in Shadow turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. There are much better ones

What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?

    Voices were great!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Waste of a credit

    Any additional comments?

I have no idea why this book got good reviews .

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The story is compelling and fresh.

What did you like best about this story?

The story and the premise is refreshingly new.

What didn’t you like about Ellen Archer’s performance?

The narrator is the worst I've ever heard. After listening to over 100 audible books, the narrator completely ruined to book. I will avoid this narrator in the future. All of her characters are spoken in a high pitched annoying voice. The whole book sounds like it was read by the characters of a Pokemon cartoon.

    Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book but avoid this narrator in any future book.

Peter V. Brett has won accolades from critics, fans and fellow authors alike for this riveting debut novel. The Warded Man features a world where demons stalk the night, hunting humans who have long forgotten the magic of their ancestors. But all is not lost, as some hold out hope that a savior will release humanity from the demons' terrifying reign.

What did you like best about The Warded Man? What did you like least?

the story was slow and the characters got into some very annoying contrived situations where the bad guys were really bad and the good guys just got the shaft. i know this makes for better catharsis when the good guys win but i just couldn't stand listening to it.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

    the premise was very good.

What aspect of Pete Bradbury’s performance would you have changed?

    his performance was fine.

    Any additional comments?

I had to fast forward to the end because the situations were so annoying.

This book had great reviews and I had great expectations. However, this story is very slow and verbose. There is much dialog.... The narrator has an annoying speach impediment. I can't believe that this book was rated so highly.
