I have read all of Grisham’s stuff. I tend to like his non-lawyer stuff and the “Racketeer” once again delivers. After a slow start the book became a non-stop read for me. As always, the characters are well developed. John, you keep writing and I will keep reading. Inmates seem to have way to much time on their hand to be able to think up things like this.
I look forward to every Reacher book. This book delivered in the way Reacher does things best, clear and decisive. This book had me all the way to the end, which I thought was a little weak. I wanted Reacher to make heads roll. Dick Hill once again delivers a great performance.
When Nelson Demille writes a story, he takes the time to develop his characters so so very well. His quick wit and snappy one liners have always interested me. Scott Brick blows life into what seems like real people and has always done a great job with Nelson's books. I am not sure why I had not ever read this book before nor seen the movie. Perhaps now I will seek out the movie?
Travis McGee is a character I want to learn more about. The books have been around for a long time yet the story holds up well.
Doc Ford is just good stuff to listen too. Marian seems to be developing a very interesting new friend that will provide Randy some new material to explore.
I had the chance to go to a book signing and hear Randy talk, he is well worth the time.
John Corey returns! Another wise ass tail by Demille that had me glued to the performance of "The Panther". I really want to visit Yemen after reading this, NOT...
Mitch is back and once again he is flexing his muscles. I love Mitch’s no nonsense approach to getting things done that nobody wants to do. Vince please keep writing and will keep reading.
This biography takes the reader through the life of a very unique individual. Louis Zamperini is a hero in three different ways an athlete, inspiration for men and finally a man who can forgive others. Without one of these virtues the other two don’t exist. We all should have such strong resolve in our lives. Laura you once again did a wonderful job of telling a great story.
DeMille's rewrite of a great book is even better with the newer setting. As always, DeMille’s wit and mastering of the written English language delivers a spellbinding listening experience. DeMille’s boyhood friend Thomas Block lends his knowledge and insight of flight to enhance the reading experience of this book by making the technical stuff unquestionable. The suspense of several sequences in this book had me riveted to the radio in my car (I listen via my Apple Nano). I can’t wait for his next book, I don’t know how I missed this book, I have read all of DeMille’s stuff.
War is hell. Our young men are going through hell fighting a war that means nothing to our adversaries. The people who are fighting this war for the most part don’t even live in the country they are fighting in. I support our young people who brave their lives and fight against religious zealots.
