In The Progress Paradox, Gregg Easterbrook draws upon three decades of wide-ranging research and thinking to make the persuasive assertion that almost all aspects of Western life have vastly improved in the past century; and yet today, most men and women feel less happy than in previous generations. Why this is so and what we should do about it is the subject of this book.

This a great book, it certainly makes you think about the way we live our lives in North America. I've listened to twice. I recommend this to anyone who searches for happiness. It certainly offers some tips and ways to look at life that will make you appreciate what you've got.

  • Why We Suck

In Why We Suck, Dr. Denis Leary uses his common sense, and his biting and hilarious take on the world, to attack the politically correct, the hypocritical, the obese, the thin - basically everyone who takes themselves too seriously. He does so with the extra oomph of a doctorate bestowed upon him by his alma mater Emerson College. "Sure it's just a celebrity type of thing - they only gave it to me because I'm famous." Leary explains.

What did you love best about Why We Suck?

This book made me laugh out loud. He seemed to speak out load what must people think, but can't say, because it's politically incorrect. I recommend the book (to people with a sense of humour).

Would you be willing to try another book from Dr. Denis Leary? Why or why not?

I think I'd be willing to buy another book of his.

What does Dr. Denis Leary bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

The use of swear words and general profanity is probably better in an audio book. You could really feel the emotion behind the words.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Laugh all the way.
