"Bluntly adridged"
As a devoted reader of all Mr. Stephenson's works, it is wonderful to hear them spoken. However, it is noisome to be startled out of a reverie by the words, "Pages 'blah' to 'blah,' are Cut." Spans of up to 75 pages are tossed off without even a poor syopsis of what's gone missing. I'm glad I resisted the Cryptonomicon (Unabridged Excerpts) due to bad reviews, consider this the same sort of thing. Buy Snow Crash (Unabridged) and/or The Diamond Age (Unabridged). Also consider Ender's Game (Unabridged), Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell (Unabridged), or Life of Pi (Unabridged).
"Terrible."
Better science, realistic law, opposite ending.
Probably not.
No, but the voices were good.
I was disappointed with the lack of understanding of how to get mass into space, the belief that the US wouldn't stop someone launching into space just because they owned the land they took of from, an worst the complete disowning of truth at the end.
Glad I got it on sale.
"Dated"
Enjoyable book, fun characters, but with a copyright of 2000, it's all pre 9/11, set in New York. I'm glad I got this one cheap as a Light Listener selection.
