So cliche, predictable, convoluted and boring!! Topped off by being very poorly read this is the worst spy novel I have purchased EVER. Wanted to quit after a couple of hours but I finished it. Look around, there are better out there.
I wish audible would make it more clear when a book is a religious vehicle. This is the third "mystery/thriller" category book I have bought in a row that is no more than a sermon in disguise. Soooo disappointed. Please add a religious category so I can avoid it as I do other categories that are not of interest to me. I check synopsis and read reviews but keep getting fooled. I am now going to start checking authors before I buy as they tend to run true to form. I am sure others would appreciate a religious category during audible specials.
I enjoyed this story but certainly agree with others that the narrator was not a good fit. He isn't a terrible narrator he just couldn't even begin to fill the shoes of previous narrators. The book should be a solid 5 stars. Too bad..
I felt every detail of this book was vital in portraying the incredible strength and insight of this young lady. Although I usually find authors reading their books no the best her narration added so much to the story, at time adding emotion only she cold convey. Good luck to you Jaycee and thank you for having the courage to share this very personal memoir.
I was in the 9th grade when JFK was assassinated and watched every second of tv coverage. Still the Jackie we saw was one-dimensional. Thanks to this book I now have a much greater appreciation of this amazing woman. Talented, smart, funny, and strong. Thanks Mr. Hill for giving me a greater appreciation of who she was.
This book is fascinating on so many levels including an engrossing story and fine narration. Bought entire trilogy during the trilogy special. So glad i did. Wonderful at every level.
Narration although different fit the dialogue perfectly. Loved the wry sense of humor. The beginning although similar to some other books laid an essential foundation for the meat of the story. I will listen to this more than once. Might not appeal to all but I loved it. Thanks to the author for sharing this, hope it helps.
Male voice is ok, at least it doesn't detract from the book. Female voice is not good, although I have listened to the before I still do not like the two voice format especially when she is so poor. Her voice does detract from the book. The book is enjoyable and I don't usually like this author. All in all not bad but not great.
I thought this was a historical novel. I probably read the brief carelessly. It it a fantasy fully of imaginary stuff i don't care for.. Didn't finish it. It probably is not that bad if you like this kind of story but be forewarned.
I was again fooled by audible into thinking this was a new release. I usually research online to get original release date to keep from listening to books I have already read. They got me on this one. It was originally released in 1997! Please Audible, sto trying to hide the original release date, it only make you look like you have something to hide. It is a fine book and the technological advances in criminology and communication are interesting. I do not regret buying it but I am disappointed in Audible.
OK, OK, I didn't give it much of a chance however, I am so incredibly offended by the continuous use of the "n" word I could not listen to this book. I am not African American and I am not usually offended by language but the story did not grab me and the offensive language made it a relief to hit the delete button.
This is the FIRST book of hundreds that I have treated this way and rated one star. Glad I only paid 7.95 for it!.
