i actually enjoyed the grandmothers staory most i think that could have been a book on its own! not sure why the granddaughters story was such a big part, it was a bit of a let down
yes but i dont want to spoil it!
the main characters courage was amazing, esp as it was based on true events
i havent read it
at times i thought he was a bit mumbly and i had to go back and listen to what he was saying
confused, sad, hopeful
all of lennys confusion following the death of her sister was believable and not often conveyed
lots of scenes but i liked how believable her feelings were. one was when she couldnt wait to tell her sister something then suddenly remembered she was no longer alive.
i liked the book suggestions but really it was just like listening to a whole lot of book reviews.
i would have liked to hear more about his mothers life it sounded like she was a very inspirational lady
more about his mothers life
yes, it is a lot to take in in one go!
i like this ladies determination even as a young girl after going through so much hardship still had so much ambition for her own life
the narrator was ok i would think about listening to him but the story was boring, i did not enjoy it i wouldnt read him again
better story faster moving
clear, steady, understandable
it would be near the top!
i like all the interlinked stories and i loved that it was about older people
couldnt pick one
-the hidden stories of your grandparents
after listening to this version i have chosen this book for my book club to read i could not put it down, it even inspired me to go running so i could keep listening!!!
i loved jack such a stoic wee boy!
the narrators were great they made the story really come to life
i woudlnt, and i love that its just 'room' and not 'the room' you need to read it to understand why
fab read it!!
all of it, storyline poor, character dialogue tried badly to make up the plot
