Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

This is my first review after about five years of listening to Audible. Generally I am annoyed with people who write negative reviews of books that are mostly highly praised. I will also preface my comments by saying I am a person who enjoys quilting - I enjoy putting pieces together and watching the pattern develop.

So - what I have to say about Time Travelers Wife is --- Absurd!! If you are anything like me, don't waste your money on this book!

I will close by saying that I am also a "don't rock the boat" kind of person, don't cause trouble, just move on. That will give you an indication as to how strongly I feel about Time Travelers Wife. I just had to write what I thought. I feel better now.

For 40 years Western intelligence agents have known a terrible secret: the Russians have a mole - code-named Talbot - inside the CIA. At first Talbot is suspected of killing European agents. Then a street-smart ex-cop uncovers a storm of espionage and murder on the streets of New York, while in a Long Island suburb a civic demonstration against the Russian mission masks a desperate duel of nerves and wits. Engineered by Talbot, a shadow world of suspicion and deceit is spilling onto the streets....

I would say it is a series of inventive ways to kill people. The story is about trying to prevent an attack by Russia on the US. In preventing a mass killing numerous people are knocked off individually.

  • Good Book: Things I Learned When I Read Every Single Word of the Bible

Good Book is what happens when a regular guy actually reads the book on which his religion, his culture, and his world are based. Along the way, he grapples with the most profound theological questions: Does God prefer obedience or good deeds? And the most unexpected ones: Why are so many women in the Bible prostitutes? Why does God love bald men so much? Is Samson really that stupid? Good Book is an irreverent, enthralling journey through the world's most important work of literature.

While browsing in a book store a couple years ago I came across a bible broken down into 365 daily installments, enabling you to read the bible in a year. One year later my thought was -- why would anyone want to worship the cruel, vicious God of the Old Testament. I thoroughly enjoyed David Plotz' book since it pretty much agreed with what I thought.

A dangerous, homeless drifter who grew up picking cotton in virtual slavery. An upscale art dealer accustomed to the world of Armani and Chanel. A gutsy woman with a stubborn dream. A story so incredible no novelist would dare dream it.
