Finally some of her Miles series is making it onto audio books. I read this entire series and I loved it. The Vor Game is a great example of the series and is a great moving book about honour and commitments. I recomend any of her books in this series, I have never been disappointed by any of them. Her characters fly from the pages, real and complete, pulling you along through the story as you want to see if Miles manages to succeed, or not. You never quite know for sure what the outcome will be, since he doesn't always get everything he hoped for.
This was an enjoyable book, although somewhat lacking in depth compared to what I expect from one of her books. The Miles series somehow seemed to have more depth to plots than this one does. Never the less that is a great book and once I got into it I didn't want to stop reading it until the end. I liked the characters, and this is one of Lois's great abilities, is she creates fantastic believable and interesting characters.
The plot felt a little forced in a few places, most notablly towards the start of the book, and it didn't flow quite as well as it could have.
I really enjoyed this book, I read it well before the movie came out and I was pleasantly surprised by how well they captured the feeling of the book in the movie. One of my favourite Elmore Leonard books, although I think I liked Riding the Rap a little more. Hard to say.
