Adrian Plass has a wonderful way of looking at the way Christians behave, and the gap between what they really are and what they appear to be in public. It's full of British humour (he warns that Americans do not understand irony). It's a wonderfully encouraging book and life giving book. WAARNING: Not for anyone who takes the church too seriously.
This is a great book to listen to. It's good to be able to listen to how the words actually sound, rather than trying to imagine what they would sound like when read off a page.
Enjoyed the book tremendously and highly recommend it.
I had expected to get Nouwen reading his book: Instead it was a series of talks given at a retreat. It was a good listen, however I feel this should have been made more clear in the description of the product.
Nouwen speaks well, and shars a large number of insights.
I really enjoyed listening to this book. Screwtape gives a fresh point of view of the christians jouney to heaven with wit and sophistication. None of the simplistic formulations such as 'being saved by the blood' that we sometimes hear.
