Finally back in the swing with Dove's narration perfectly balanced. Mayer excelling in his ability to capture the reader with this ongoing story of man against overwhelming technical superiority. So glad that we have more to come.
I love this series, Mayer is simply amazing. I look forward to listening to each and every book.
However, Gollerys "performance" was so bad it was a struggle. I found myself shouting at the iPod on more than one occasion. He doesn't seem to feel the need to read ahead and often stops himself and repeats sentences. His pace is almost always totally off and he... draws sentences... out... making it... very tough... going.
Very much looking forward to the next instalment in the series.
Kept me out running for hours while listening to this series. I literally didn't want to go home. Outstanding narration brought the characters and their story to life. A fantastic end to a brilliant series that encompassed outstanding sci-fi mixed with riveting and passionate depiction of infamous military battles.Just brilliant.
I honestly didn't think the narration could get worse after Hayes, I was wrong. Gollery is simply terrible. He's obviously isn't reading ahead prior to the recording. This is evident by constant attempts to retry sentences. His staccato pronunciation of words is irritating beyond belief. It's actually making me want to fast forward at times.
Again, this is merely detracting from a BRILLIANT work by Mayer. It is a testament to his gripping writing that I am pushing through this narration to learn more of the fight against the Shadow.
I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to Jeffrey Kafer in the final three in the series. Such a great narrator.
Mayer keeps surprising me with another outstanding series. This is the perfect sibling series to Area 51. Different enough to make the work compelling and the story belts along.
Sadly the reading is let down by terrible narration. Hayes reads the story at a lethargic pace with no emphasis on urgency regardless of how chaotic the scene for the protagonists. All the strong female characters come across like little girls. It's painful at times.
Mayer is outstanding and I will push through the series regardless of the narration.
I'm really getting into Mayer's work. He's a terrific author, but again this reading has been let down by terrible narration.
Hayes reads the story at a lethargic pace with no emphasis on urgency regardless of how chaotic the scene for the protagonists. All the strong female characters come across like little girls asking kindly if they could go to play in the park.
Certainly doesn't do Mayers great writing any favours. That said, I'm really looking forward to the later books in the series.
Why have I not heard of Bob Mayer? This story is excellent, totally engrossing. Kafer's simply brilliant.
The master of the techno thriller returns in force. I love this guy.
Having worked on unmanned aerial systems its apparent Daniel has too, or has done his research very well. This scenario could actually happen tomorrow. The guy knows his tech.
If you haven't read Daemon and Freedom then you have missed out on an epic story.
A really interesting story, well crafted. Dan Brown eat your heart out.
Brick is a talented narrator, but he really made the sexy sister Serena Serghetti sound like a butch Darwin dock worker. At times it was painful to listen too. The worst female Australian voice i have heard.
