For over 20 years, Belasco House has stood empty. Regarded as the Mt. Everest of haunted houses, its shadowed walls have witnessed scenes of unimaginable horror and depravity. All previous attempts to probe its mysteries have ended in murder, suicide, or insanity.

But now, a new investigation has been launched, bringing four strangers to Belasco House in search of the ultimate secrets of life and death. A wealthy publisher, brooding over his impending death, has paid a physicist and two mediums to establish the facts of life after death once and for all. For one night, they will investigate the Belasco House and learn exactly why the townsfolk refer to it as the Hell House.

Where does Hell House rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's up there based on Ray Porter alone. I think I would love listening to him read the dictionary.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hell House?

There were many spooky parts that were great and some cringe worthy ones as well.

What about Ray Porter’s performance did you like?

The whole thing. You can always tell which characters are talking w/o having to be told. Most definitely the best narrator I have come across.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Like I said before, it's definitely not for the faint of heart. It's not extremely violent or gory but the are certain parts where you are just like.....damn.

    Any additional comments?

A good book by one of the better horror writers ever made even better by today's best narrator.

What did you love best about Assassin's Code?

The characters are what makes this series so damn great.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Assassin's Code?

The opening scene when the red scope lights end up dancing a little to far south for Joe's tastes.

Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ray Porter is Joe Ledger. If they ever lost him as the narrator for this series, it would take a serious hit and that's saying something because its so well written. Nobody else could do this like Ray Porter does.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Whenever he is reminded of a certain person, don't want any spoilers, the Maberry/Porter duo really makes you feel the hurt and loss Joe is dealing with.

    Any additional comments?

Any Ledger novel, as well as the short stories is worth the precious credit.

Dean Evers, an elderly widower, sits in front of the television with nothing better to do than waste his leftover evenings watching baseball. It’s Rays/Mariners, and David Price is breezing through the line-up. Suddenly, in a seat a few rows up beyond the batter, Evers sees the face of someone from decades past, someone who shouldn’t be at the ballgame, shouldn’t be on the planet. And so begins a parade of people from Evers’s past, all of them occupying that seat behind home plate. Until one day Dean Evers sees someone even eerier….

What made the experience of listening to A Face in the Crowd the most enjoyable?

The baseball that was involved. You always see those people behind home plate and now I'll never look at those people the same way.

What other book might you compare A Face in the Crowd to and why?

It would fit right in with any of his short story collections.

Which character – as performed by Craig Wasson – was your favorite?

Watson does an excellent job. He has become one of my favorite narrators of King's work along with Frank Mueller.
