This story offers nothing more than a series of sexual encounters. I wanted to jump ahead of them but was afraid I would miss part of the actual story between Sed & Jessica. As the actual story unfolds it is not believable. Supposedly Jessica has lived through the multiple relationships of her mother, the sexual advances of her stepfather & every other man she comes across, has previously lived the life of Sed's fiancee and lived on the road with him & the band, and has the intelligence to earn a scholorship. Yet we are to believe the response she has to the events at the university? And really, the sexual chemisty between Sed & Jessica is not enough to carry a book. I want my credit back. I will never listen to this story again. And won't be getting the rest of this series.
There is some unnecessary reputation that does get annoying. I think on the whole it's a good piece of work and a surprise for a 4th book of the same story.
It's hard to believe she stays a virgin so long. It makes this storyline juvenile and silly. The 2 books should have been combined and the excess content omitted.
Nora Roberts almost always produces 5 star work and this is one of them....😜
The banter btwn the lead characters is always one of the best points
Unable to give zero stars so this story got a grudging 1 star. So disappointed this book was actually one of the "suggested titles" from audible. Is this an adolescent author or maybe the story was supposed to be geared toward the adolescent audience? I could not get beyond chapter 11 due to phrases like " poop in a group", "hand to self combat", and "diddle one off". These made by the lead FEMALE character.
Not sure if I will trust the reviews or another suggestion again....
This story seems to have been written for simplistic readers or maybe just by an immature writer. It is full of sentences like: Babe. Babe? or Yeah. Yeah?. Please, tell me who says things like "I am Gwen"s man.". It sounds ridiculous. And I do not know any woman who would have sex with a man for a year without asking his name. Yes I realize this is fiction. Maybe there should be a different classification for these types of stories. Like the YA distinction. I doubt any educated, adult woman would be able to get all the way through this story. It doesn't even work as a mindless beach book. You would spend the whole time thinking "this is do stupid" and being frustrated trying to read through it to see if it gets better. It doesn't...
Didn't realize the length before I purchased it. Same price as the other 2 longer stories. Should have gotten the e-books for cheaper price.
Although the book was really only average, the was entertaining, original. I was compelled the finish it.
Tired storyline of the handsome vampire and the human destined to be together, but the narration is what really ruined it for me. The intonation between characters was annoying. Who hires these people anyway.
Jim McCance did a good job as reader. His deep voice was perfect for the male characters and he also did a good job with the female voices. The story however was superficial, the characters uninteresting. It seemed long & boring. It was a chore to listen to the end. I plan to get my credit returned.
