Jolie thinks she’s seen it all, but life continues to spring surprises. The latest shocker? She’s just been crowned Queen of the Underworld. Jolie may possess a rare gift for reanimating the dead, but she doesn’t know the first thing about governing disparate factions of supernatural creatures. She can barely maintain order in her own chaotic personal life, which is heading into a romantic tailspin.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

If you are looking for a fluttery witch who is has a hard time making decisions. You might enjoy this.

If you’ve listened to books by H. P. Mallory before, how does this one compare?

Not one of Mallory's best. I

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The Narrator did an awesome job bringing the char to life and the plot is good but the main char was too fluttery.

What character would you cut from Witchful Thinking?

I wouldn't per-say cut any of them...I'd just make the main more solid.

Darcy's closest friend and fellow witch, Starla Sullivan, hoped she'd never see her ex-husband, Kyle, again. Two years ago he tried to kill her, and he has been a fugitive ever since. Now Starla claims to have seen him back in Enchanted Village, but it seems she's the only one who can see him. To everyone else, her ex is invisible. Darcy only wishes his motives were as transparent as the rest of him. Since the police can't arrest someone they can't see, it's up to Darcy to find the secret behind Kyle's latest disappearing act - before he does something they can't see coming.

Amazing Author and even more amazing series. The character growth and interactions never miss a beat and I love all the little surprises. Darcy is once again flung into another murder to solve but this time with the blessing of the Elder. Which puts her arch rival Glinda's nose out of joint even further with her. Oh yeah...the jealousy still oozes from her over Darcy.

Given this time the murder is pointing fingers at Darcy's best friend Starla, Darcy goes out of her way to solve it. It all embroiling Starla's X husband and he being the corpse found in Starla's home. Ooops!

Also, the side story with Mrs. P, Archie and Pepe continue on and it is one heck of a side story....I'll just let you hang on that and read the book.

The book as a whole didn't drag, didn't dull one moment. There were the, "Oh no you didn't!" moments and "Oh heck no!" ones too and let's not forget the a few tears and sniffles at one point.

Read it...it's not a disappointment....I do suggest that if you haven't read the previous ones...read those first....you'll understand more. :)

Okay...I normally love the Dresden Files to death!!! Love Harry and all his friends and even enemies! But I had a hard time staying on track with this one because of what Harry had to do! I mean WTF? He had to help...Nicodemus Archleone?! Mab has totally lost it! Now the twist of what is going on with Harry's head is a hoot and very interesting....Glad to see some of the other beloved Characters back too....but dang!!! Once we got past his helping Nic...it did get better.

I've been a long time fan of The Hallows series and never ever have I been disappointed. This series from start to finish has been edgy, intriguing and non-stop action and humor. Never has Kim Harrison let me down and Marguerite Gavin is awesome in her narration! You know exactly who is talking!!!! This is sadly the last book in the series but so well written and enthralling to the very end!!! Now it time for Rachel to find and fix the vampires or all she loves will die. She's pushed into the corners again and is faced with demons freedom to her world, facing off with the surface demons and the Goddess once again. Her relationship is strained and she's questioning it with Trent all at the same time. I will not spoil it you must read it!!

All his life, Rand T’Ash has looked forward to meeting his HeartMate, with whom he could begin a family. Once a street tough, now a respected nobleman and artisan, he has crafted the perfect HeartGift, which, in the custom of the psychically gifted population of the planet Celta, is the way a man finds—and attracts—his wife… Danith Mallow is irresistibly drawn to the magnificent necklace on display in T’Ash’s shop, but she is wary of its creator, despite an overpowering attraction. In a world where everyone is defined by their psychic ability, Danith has little, placing her at the opposite end of the social spectrum from T’Ash. But T’Ash refuses to accept her rejection and sees it as a challenge instead. They are HeartMates, but can T’Ash persuade his beloved to accept her destiny by his side?

Robin D. Owens is my all time favorite author and before she went Audible I've read all her books in her Celta series and love each and everyone of them. To understand most of what is happening in the series you must read from book one, HeartMate and read about Rand T'Ash and Danith D'Mallow and then follow in order of series...it steps beautifully through this world of Celta and tells of it's history and people. I cannot express enough of how excited I am that Robin D. Owens has finally allowed her series to be on Audible and I've got them all on my wish list. This one, the first in the series is written about Rand T'Ash, a greatlord that lost everything in a fire and then reclaimed his heritage. He's had a tough go but on his last passage he made his heartgift and knows he has a heartmate. He has a tough time claiming her because of the restrictions on how to go about claiming a heartmate but Danith does come around. She coming from difficult backgrounds too. An orphan, told she had no flair only to discover she does and a rare one at that curtsy of Rand who tested her himself. I'll not tell no more because there is adventure and fun (via a precocious Fam cat Zanith) and an assortment of colorful characters. Robin D. Owens has a gift in her writing and makes me wish I could live on Celta myself and have a heartmate!

This series just keeps getting better! I very much so enjoy Heather Blake's writing talent and Coleen Marlo's narrations! Once again Darcy finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation but this time the deceased's spirit has imprinted to her and she finds she has to solve his murder to help him pass over. Also Nick, her love interest and cop is embroiled into this and there is pressure on their relationship due to it and of course Nick's co-worker Glenda...who also is in love with him....causing it. The book has it's funny twists, mystery and magic.!!! Loved it!!!

This time around it's a wickedly twisted well written ghost story that weaves around a Nerd Millionaire, spaz of a cousin, goofy best friend, sassy cleaning lady and shy gardener. Throw in a dilapidated mansion on a haunted island and a few vengeful of villains...a promising witty thrill ride. Get your popcorn, twizzlers and soda...have a great read!!!

Alexandra Belarus is a struggling artist living in New York City, even though her family is rich in real estate, including a towering Gothic Gramercy Park building built by her great-great-grandfather. When I started to read this book it was absorbing but then it got to be unbelievable and unrealistic as to how the main Character would know certain things or do things that she'd never known before. I was sorely disappointed by some of the writing as I think it got sloppy in some parts like the author wanted to rush the story line or didn't know how to write certain scenes. As I said it was okay, somewhat far fetched and didn't absorb me as I usually get absorbed into a book.

For short insight: Alexandra Belarus is a struggling artist that finds out some pretty dark secrets about her family and finds herself in a fight for her family and digging into her grandfathers past. She finds out she is a spell mason and has the abilities to manipulate a craft of magic with stones. She also somehow awakens a gargoyle that is her guardian through this.

When 15-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing, not even a smear of blood, to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

Right from the start it was exciting. I really wanted to read the book before watching the movie and I'm glad!!! The book does follow an "A" typical plot line, which I won't ruin for those who haven't read it but I love how the writer puts her twists and turns on it. I'm really looking forward to the next book.

For a quick note: Clary is a strong girl who follows her gut and instincts through the book to find her Mom and works with people she doesn't know and discovers a pretty heavy secret about herself and her life that she wouldn't have known if her Mother had anything to do with it. In this she finds more family and creates strong bonds with people she wouldn't have normally hung out with but finds she needs also.

A strong book, with a strong plot and good characters!!!

Finally get to hear Dougal Kincaid's Story. In the "Love At Stake" Series, earlier on, Dougal lost his sword hand in battle with the Malcontents. He's always the soft spoken of the Vamps and very loyal. A background character that you smiled and felt sorry for. Unfortunately, I felt sorry for him through this whole book! Sad life and sadder way to become a vampire. It touches base on his childhood of slavery, how he came to be playing the pipes and his music in general. Highlights on his lost love. Also touches on his new prosthetic hand that Roman made him that he can control with his mind. I never knew what a mopey Vamp he was! Leah is no better. She's his love interest. A brainy child who grew up smarter then the rest and became a scientist. She has a few hang-ups herself and found myself wanting to reach in the book and smack her a good one a few times. The story does improve when you get further into it! I loved the Angels part in it and a face off with the demon Darifer.
