This Kind of War is a monumental study of the conflict that began in June 1950. Successive generations of U.S. military officers have considered this book an indispensable part of their education. T. R. Fehrenbach's narrative brings to life the harrowing and bloody battles that were fought up and down the Korean Peninsula.

In a time long forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons off balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. As the cold returns, sinister forces are massing beyond the protective wall of the kingdom of Winterfell. To the south, the king's powers are failing, with his most trusted advisor mysteriously dead and enemies emerging from the throne's shadow.

The cause of the devastation is a phenomenon that will come to be known as The Pulse, and the delivery method is a cell phone. Everyone's cell phone. Clay and the few desperate survivors who join him suddenly find themselves in the pitch-black night of civilization's darkest age, surrounded by chaos, carnage, and a human horde that has been reduced to its basest nature...and then begins to evolve.

    What disappointed you about Cell?

This story had so much potential. It is obvious that Steven King was more interested in just finishing the book then letting the story grow.

What was most disappointing about Stephen King’s story?

Stephen King spent far more time being descriptive or putting emphasis on items he has already given us a mental picture about but failed to evolve the story. So much so that at times I found myself wishing he would get on with the story.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

the narrator is a little monotone.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Cell?

the repetitiveness of Stephen king's descriptions when time could have been sent on the story.

The first in a mesmerizing four-book original series, Prodigal Son is a brilliant re-imagining and updating of the classic Frankenstein story that only Dean Koontz could conceive. Two hundred years old, the "monster", Deucalion, is a monster no more. Literate and intelligent, he arrives in modern-day New Orleans, where he will join forces with a street-smart police detective and her partner on the trail of a macabre serial killer.

What was most disappointing about Dean Koontz and Kevin J. Anderson ’s story?

It is one thing to have a hanger or a series but this is basically one book broken up into more just to simply force people to buy more than one book.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    disappointment
