This is a great book! Very entertaining and unique read! However, if you have listened to latter books of this series you'll notice James Marsters dosen't hit his stride untill about book three of four. He's a little listless in this one but dose get better!

This is one of the few audio books where the narrator not only lives up to the potiential of the book but also enhances it. The narrator gives the story more character and shades in the story to give it more depth. The various British terms (knackered meaning dead tired) (transport cafe is a truckstop) and the accent may give Americans a little trouble but otherwise I think everybody will enjoy the story.

The texture of the Jazz scene and the expressions of London life where enjoyable as well.

The first book was good but the second was better and I still waiting to listen to the third.

This book is like a knockoff of "John Carter Of Mars" but it is a VERY GOOD knockoff. The main character feels real and her choices feel more real. Its also more edgey and modern than John Carter which may make it easier to read because of the generation gap. The next book is already out in print and I hope audible will have it soon.

I love the books that make me curse them for ending too soon and wishing for another right away. This...is one of those books.

Think victorian steampunk Sherlock with a cowboy shooter. The start drags a little but the action starts soon enough. The main charater has an interesting mix of powers which he uses to his full advantage and making a few epic fight scenes that wouldn't be out of place in a movie. The sidekick is entertaining and makes me laugh everytime he's present.

One of my favorite characters along with John Taylor, Harry Dresden, Matthew Swift and Sherlock Holmes.

Just try the first one and I promise you'll enjoy the rest just as much.

I'm not a fan of steam punk but this is a book that could get me interested in the genre. I'm definetly looking forward to the second book.
