I've been a Discworld afficionado for a long time, so I expect the best from Terry Pratchett.
True fans will listen to this book no matter what, but this one left me a little disappointed.
Of course, it still has plenty of clever English-contorting prose & I enjoyed some good laughs.
The story line is interesting enough, with Commander Vimes unintentionally time travelling
in order to rescue himself and the future. But as a complete work, it just lacked the "zing" that the first 20 in this series offered. If you are new to Discworld, pick one of the earlier books instead of this one.
As for the audio production - poor. Stephen Briggs simply does not have the vocal range to
carry Pratchett's complex characters. We can hear gulps, breathing, and annoying changes in
tone & sound quality (director's fault).
