"Nice story, but too wordy"
Yes and no. I like the initial story, but the detail on every day things is just redundant. I would recommend it for someone who wanted to meditate on thankfulness, but the rest of it seems like a great short story or blog post. Great message. . . .but too much.
The best part of the story was her initial experience as a child and how she translated gratefulness out of that into every part of her life.
The least interesting was every last detail of mundane things in her life.
Probably not unless I heard that it was less wordy.
No.
"Outstanding"
Absolutely! So full of new information and very entertaining.
Abe.
It was natural and funny.
I wish there was another one. I had to read Killing Kennedy immediately afterward and then I still wanted more. I love his writing style.
"Too much Obama, not enough Navy Seals"
Yes, but I wish they would lose the bias.
Maybe
Yes
Yes
If the title talks about the 10 year search, then I would like to hear more about all the efforts in this and not just Obama as a hero.
"Story interesting; the writing dull"
No, the reading is so monotone. The story is interesting, but the writing is so dull.
No.
"Worth the read"
There is nothing better than to hear the author read her own story.
Living with greed and its effect on mental health.
"Amazing performance"
I liked the story. As a Christian, it was very allegorical and I could understand it. It was different than other stories I read and so I liked that. I can't rank it as it is so different, but I'm glad I listened to it and I read the book as well.
The narrator was very good at using different voices.
Any scene where God was portrayed as a black woman making food.
An allegory to understand the love and justice of God.
"Very sweet story!"
It was very enjoyable. The story flowed. It made me want to live on the land with a community or as they would say, become a
It reminded me of Mrs. Mike in how a young girl moves to a new place and finds love and a sense of community.
She has the beautiful older woman voice that reminds you of a full life.
It did evoke emotion. The war was very sad, but the family had such a sense of togetherness that it was heartwarming. Grandmam was such a loving character for an abandoned girl that it was heartwarming as well.
