    "Good Story - Distracting Reader"
    Overall

I will listen to other books by this author, but I'll first try to find a different reader before purchasing. The story was a good one - especially for anyone near the Caylee / Casey Anthony case hear in Central Florida. It shows how quick we can be to judge, and be wrong. The reader was fine until she did male voices. The low, gruffness coming from a woman was LOL comedic and distracted from the story. The balance of her reading was quite good.

Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

Would you consider the audio edition of Sycamore Row to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version - and won't. This was perfect.

    Any additional comments?

I couldn't wait to get to the outcome of the trial and see how Grisham would work it out. He gives you inklings through out the story, but with the trial taking twists and turns and coming to the end - you are still guessing. Very well read. This is Grisham story telling at its best! I highly recommend that you invest yourself in this book.

Andy Barber has been an assistant district attorney in his suburban Massachusetts county for more than 20 years. He is respected in his community, tenacious in the courtroom, and happy at home with his wife, Laurie, and son, Jacob. But when a shocking crime shatters their New England town, Andy is blindsided by what happens next: his 14-year-old son is charged with the murder of a fellow student.

Very good 'read' that will not soon leave you. There were occasional times when the timeline was hard to follow, but they were written to where you soon caught on. Intriguing variation on the nature v.s. nurture debate with an ironic ending. The characters are rich and there are laugh out loud moments with contemporary dialog. You can feel this family reach into their socks for the courage to get through the grocery store. Excellent story & performance - I highly recommend this book.

What would have made Separation of Power better?

We have enjoyed the Mitch Rapp series and sad that Vince Flynn passed away. Adding to the heartbreak is the miserable reader for this book. The narration is so hideous, we quit listening. The narration is just the worst! I will buy the book out of respect for a favorite author.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Ken Kilban?

The absolute WORST narration in my 10 years with Audible!

What disappointed you about The Innocent?

The story started off fine, then turned ridiculously implausible.

What was most disappointing about David Baldacci’s story?

I don't know where to begin, but let's say with a character that is sure that everything is about him.

Did Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Narration was the best thing about this audio-book.

This is a thrilling historical account of the worst cholera outbreak in Victorian London and a brilliant exploration of how Dr. John Snow's solution revolutionized the way we think about disease, cities, science, and the modern world.

The Executive Board of an exclusive men's club meets to talk about 9/11 and finalize a retaliation plan, known by a code name: Wild Fire. That weekend, a member of the Federal Anti-Terrorist Task Force is found dead. It's up to Detective John Corey and his wife, FBI Agent Kate Mayfield, to unravel a terrifying plot that starts with the Custer Hill Club and ends with American cities locked in the crosshairs of a nuclear device.

Joseph says: "Good, but the series is getting forced."
    "Ugh! Sophomoric & Strained Dialog"
    Overall

I am a big DeMille fan, but this one falls short. I suspect that the abridged version may be better than the unabridged, if they cut much of the cutesy, inappropriate, stilted dialog. The premise of the book is very intriguing, but it became boorish and the dialog detracted from the suspense. If just the FU's were deleted, it would probably be 2 disks shorter, take out the sophomoric wise cracks and maybe 4 more would come out. Then, you'd have a good listen.

    Scott Brick, was excellent, again.

We had a bit of a brogue at by the end, but the narration and writing were both outstanding. This is a clever, sharp writer and this book caused us to listen to his other two on Aubible. We will watch for more from this team of Adrian McKinty & Gerald Doyle. Well worth your time investment.

When British and American intelligence catch wind of a major Al Qaeda operation in the works, they instantly galvanize, but to do what? They know nothing about it: the what, where, or when. They have no sources in Al Qaeda, and it's impossible to plant someone. Or is it?

BobInWA says: "Slow Part 1 - Great Part 2"
    "Well Researched & Plausable"

We thoroughtly enjoyed this book. There is good reason for the British narration, while at first it was bothersome. The book brings light to history and the many cultural differences between Middle-Easterners, Brits and Americans.

We listened on a trip and it melted the miles away. It is only 8 disks, and they fly by quickly. One of our favorites.
