Dulcie O’Neil is a fairy. And not the type to frolic in gardens. She’s a Regulator - a law-enforcement agent who monitors the creatures of the Netherworld to keep them from wreaking havoc in the mortal world. When a warlock is murdered and Dulcie was the last person to see him alive, she must uncover the truth before she’s either deported back to the Netherworld, or she becomes the next victim. Enter Knight Vander, a sinfully attractive investigator sent from the Netherworld to work the case with Dulcie.

If you're looking for something that is extremely light to pass the time until the book you may be waiting for comes out then this is for you. It's obvious that this author is new therefore ignore continuity and writing style. If you can get past all of that then the book is rather fun. Dulcie is a regulator law enforcement office and a faerie. her main job is to monitor creatures from the netherworld and keep them in line. When a friend of hers ends up dead she gets blamed and fights her way through the lies with a hunk of a man named Knight Vander. The two together have the typical spats and loathing that is typical with any book of the genre to battle the forces of evil to come out on top.

What did you like best about Dead Ever After? What did you like least?

The best thing I liked is that it was a Sookie Stackhouse book, the least thing I liked was the story.

What was most disappointing about Charlaine Harris’s story?

It seemed as though Charlaine was tired of writing about Sookie. The story was was not up to par with the rest of the series and seemed rushed at points and slow at other points. At the end of book 12 Sookie saves a life. That person turns their back on Sookie throughout the majority of this book. It was depressing that when Sookie needed Eric and Sam the most they were not there for her. Eric...Ugh don't even start me going down that path. Eric was the biggest disappointment in this book. For someone who fought so hard to get Sookie throughout the series and then to abandon her without a supreme fight almost made me want to put the book down all together.

Which character – as performed by Johanna Parker – was your favorite?

Sookie Stackhouse! To me Johanna Parker IS Sookie.

Did Dead Ever After inspire you to do anything?

Yes, it made me want to beat the heck out of Eric Northman!

    Any additional comments?

I feel as though we lost of piece of Sookie in this book. Yes girl power blah blah blah but Sookie was crapped on by everyone she cared about in this book and she's going to sit idly by and hook up with a man that she never liked "in that way" because she believed that saving him made them magically closer? Give me a break. I have enjoyed the rest of the series but believe that Charlaine just wanted the story to be over and word vomited this book out so she would not have to deal with it anymore. Boo to you!

I downloaded this book because I had just listened to The Immortal Rules by the same author. I love The Immortal Rules and thought this book would be just as good...boy was I completely wrong. This book is about a 17 year old boy named Ethan Chase and he just so happens to be the little step brother of the Iron fey queen. Throughout the book you hear how Ethan is not getting involved with anything having to do with the fey. He's not going to make friends he's going to be a loner in order to protect everyone around him. This mantra is so frequently preached that it's annoying. Specifically when another boy comes to Ethan for help and Ethan adamantly refuses but then all of a sudden he accepts and helps the troubled boy? No one else can see the fey outside of "The Nevernever" and this stated many many times as well. It's an Emo roller coaster that never stops.

There were many contradictions and inner battles that made me want to smack Ethan up side the head and tell him to get over it. Help or don't help but quit saying you're not going to assist and then do it anyway but preach that you're still not going to help. I got half way through and wanted to stop listening but then decided to increase the reading speed just so I could say I finally made it to the end.

I'm seriously thinking of returning this book as I do not foresee myself listening to it ever again. I would not waste your credit on this book.

This book sat in my wish list for quite some time. After having read the reviews many times I finally decided to buy it. The book started of painfully slow and I put it down a couple of times but after ten minutes I found I was picking it back up again. If you can get through the first 10 chapters then you will be pleasantly surprised. There were times in the book that I wished the author used different anatomical names but oh well.

Sophie Eastlake's narrations was just okay. My impression of a person that has lived since the dawn of time would have the vernacular that encompasses said time length. Sophie at times makes the protagonists mate sound like an errant teenager.

Being that I was surprised as I was by the end of this book I believe i will purchase the next in the series.

Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley’s last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed. She quickly realizes something is amiss when everyone the woman knows swears she’s insane.

The fourth installment to the Charley Davidson saga is just as good as the first book. I was saddened that a lot of the questions I had in the first book still remained unanswered in this fourth book. If you have like any of the previous Charley Davidson books you'll surly enjoy this one well.
Charley has a lot of demons to work thought both metaphorically and physically unfortunately this book is extremely predictable therefore I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5. There were also times that I felt Darynda added unnecessary snark to Charley that made her more annoying.
Lorelei King, as always, brought the characters to life with her fantastic narration.

I would recommend this book and I am yet again... impatiently awaiting the next book.

The story was okay a little far fetched at times with the thunderbirds. Jennifer Van Dyck lacks in her character differences. Some times I could not tell who was talking as there was no variation in her speech. It was a nice story while I await the 12th Sookie Stackhouse novel. I think I will get book 5 just to see how the story ends. By the way, I too am rooting for Jayce!

What disappointed you about Shadow Game?

I did not have any interest in the story. I kept thinking to my self how could the main character be so dumb and why the heck would he play the Hannibal when he could get himself out at anytime. I stopped listening to the book in the 3rd chapter.

Would you ever listen to anything by Christine Feehan again?

    uh no probably not.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I think the book distracted from the book....

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Shadow Game?

I would have gone back and found a better story plot.
