In Washington: A Life celebrated biographer Ron Chernow provides a richly nuanced portrait of the father of our nation. This crisply paced narrative carries the reader through his troubled boyhood, his precocious feats in the French and Indian War, his creation of Mount Vernon, his heroic exploits with the Continental Army, his presiding over the Constitutional Convention, and his magnificent performance as America's first president.

I have listened to this story twice and will probably listen to it again. In my opinion every student should have to hear about how this country was founded and the tremendous sacrifices given for us. George Washington was in my opinion truly the father of this country he was not alone that's for sure but he was the key to establishing our government.

A Roman soldier, Marcellus, wins Christ's robe as a gambling prize. He then sets forth on a quest to find the truth about the Nazarene's robe, a quest that reaches to the very roots and heart of Christianity. Set against the vividly drawn background of ancient Rome, this is a timeless story of adventure, faith, and romance, a tale of spiritual longing and ultimate redemption.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Robe to be better than the print version?

I love to listen to books as I workout and do other chores that do not require my full attention. I found The Robe to be one of those books that I wanted to listen to instead of doing my chores it is that good. I usually read hard copy when I first go to bed at night and listen while doing mindless stuff.

What did you like best about this story?

This is a story of a man who found himself, because of circumstances beyond his control, involved in the execution of a innocent man. The impact changes his life and the life of all those around him.

I like John Grisham books because I know I will not hear miss-use of God and Jesus name and they are very entertaining. I have read all of Grisham's books and now am in the process of listening to them, very entertaining.

Here is the astonishing, never-before-told story of the greatest rescue mission of World War II: when the OSS set out to recover more than 500 airmen trapped behind enemy lines. During a bombing campaign, hundreds of American airmen were shot down in Nazi-occupied Yugoslavia. Local Serbian villagers risked their own lives to give refuge to the soldiers, and for months the airmen lived in hiding, waiting for rescue.

    Story

This is a outstanding story about WWII survival in a hostile environment and the wonderful unselfish help given to our airmen. This is a story of dedication and tenacity of a few good men who would not let the military bureaucracy get in the way of doing what was the right thing to do regardless of politics. What a shame we as individuals and we as a nation let politics get in the way of doing the right thing.

Every year on January 1, a quirky crowd of adventurers storms out across North America for a spectacularly competitive event called a Big Year: a grand, grueling, expensive, and occasionally vicious, "extreme" 365-day marathon of birdwatching. For three men in particular, 1998 would be a whirlwind, a winner-takes-nothing battle for a new North American birding record.
