This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

A pretty interesting story once you get into it some. Is there any word on the next book? Even going to the official website didn't net me much info. Good narration too.

For years he has endured the endless trials and triumphs of a man whose skill and power could not be restrained. Battling ancient enemies, forging new alliances, and confronting the corruption within his own land, Gaius Octavian became a legendary man of war - and the rightful First Lord of Alera. But now, the savage Vord are on the march, and Gaius must lead his legions to the Calderon Valley to stand against them - using all of his intelligence, ingenuity, and furycraft to save their world from eternal darkness.

It was a terrific series and now that it's over, it's like saying goodbye to a friend for the last time. It leaves me saddened. The only issues I noted(careful- spoiler alert)were explanations of how Kitai came to learn and use her abilities and the soothing of the big furies that were loosed near the end. Maybe I missed that part of the story? The sacrifice by one of the High Lords near the end brought a tear to my eye. Anyway, 5 stars and thanks JB!

The conclusion of the Mistborn trilogy fulfills all the promise of the first two books. Revelations abound, connections rooted in early chapters of the series click into place, and surprises, as satisfying as they are stunning, blossom like fireworks to dazzle and delight. It all leads up to a finale unmatched for originality and audacity that will leave listeners shaking their heads in wonder, as if awaking from an amazing dream.

I just wanted to echo the other sentiments here. A wonderful story it was! I wished it wouldn't end but it must, and a nicely done ending it was. Thanks for taking me away from this reality, even if for a short time.
