Should be called: "What to be scared of in your pregnancy week by week."
I really wanted this to be good. I am a big fan of Sandra Day O'Connor, but this was really bad. It was formulaic and seemed more like ramblings than a real story. It seemed strangely impersonal. For example she would say "here was this person. Here is their name. Here is what they were like. Here is what they taught me." I found it very boring and super frustrating. My husband was in the car with me for a long drive when we were listening to this book and after 6 chapters he started yelling, "Show don't tell!" It was so hard to listen to that we gave up about half way through. It is too bad. If the book had been written well it might have been interesting.
This guy really has no respect for your time. I tried to listen for over two hours and learned absolutely nothing. In that two hours the book never even started giving any helpful information--just long winded stories. I couldn't stand listening long enough to get to the actual purpose of why I bought the book. I had a feeling that would start another hour in and I couldn't make myself hold out. This is the first review I've ever written. I hope to save you some time. Don't buy!!!
As usual, David Sedaris is hilarious.
This book had great potential but really gets off track, especially two thirds in. Most of the story is third-hand and does not spend enough time on the actual purported subject of the book.
