Shaun Mason is a man without a mission. Not even running the news organization he built with his sister has the same urgency as it used to. Playing with dead things just doesn't seem as fun when you've lost as much as he has. But when a CDC researcher fakes her own death and appears on his doorstep with a ravenous pack of zombies in tow, Shaun has a newfound interest in life....

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    If I was 14.

Would you ever listen to anything by Mira Grant again?

Probably not, unless I get really, really desperate.

How could the performance have been better?

    Better source material.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Irritation

    Any additional comments?

Interesting premise, but it is full of *very clever (wink)* dialogue, and one-liners. Dumb. I thought the first book was pretty good, but this is a huge downgrade.

  • Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. That is, until Seth Grahame-Smith stumbled upon The Secret Journal of Abraham Lincoln, and became the first living person to lay eyes on it in more than 140 years.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Different narrator- this sounds like it is his first time reading anything aloud. It is like listening to an automated reader.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I don't know if I will be able to listen that long

How did the narrator detract from the book?

It was...like he didn't...quite understand how punctuation...affects the English language.

A teen idol at 15, an international icon and founder of the Brat Pack at 20, and one of Hollywood's top stars to this day, Rob Lowe chronicles his experiences. Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. These stories are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

    N. Belle says: "Great Book and Great Story"
"How long can you listen to a "People" article?"
    Overall

It's okay - "People" is okay for 15 minutes in the dentist's office, and that's about how interesting this book is. I'll keep it and listen like I do to podcasts, but "Bossypants" is a much better book in this category.
