Traditionally, Robert F. Kennedy has been viewed as either the "Good Bobby", who saw wrong and tried to right it, or the "Bad Bobby" of countless conspiracy theories. Evan Thomas' achievement is to realize RFK as a human being, to bring to life an extraordinarily complex man who was at once kind and cruel, devious and honest, fearful and brave. The portrait that emerges is unvarnished but sympathetic, packed with new details about Kennedy's early life and his behind-the-scenes machinations.

The book is well researched and gives a wide-ranging background on Bobbie, which is wonderful -- and eye-opening -- the great and the worst of the man. Gives a good background on the family as well, and the narrator is one of the best I have ever heard -- we will look for his narrations again.

A nine-year-old boy is found murdered at the bottom of a well near a popular beach resort in southern Italy. In what looks like a hopeless case for Guido Guerrieri, a Senegalese peddler is accused of the crime. Faced with small-town racism, Guido attempts to exploit the esoteric workings of the Italian courts. The voice of Sean Barrett brings this gritty Italian detective series to life.

The story has psychological depth and a tight plot. Carofiglio has a good understanding of both men and women, ethical dilemmas, and the law. People that like Dona Leon or Rex Stout will love this writer.

Why do we eat? It's more than just a hunger for more food, teaches Geneen Roth. Your relationship with food is a microcosm of your relationship to being alive, and to your beliefs about trust, pleasure, deprivation, and nourishment. Now, Roth offers listeners When Food Is Food and Love Is Love, a deeply spiritual culmination of her groundbreaking work since the best-selling Feeding the Hungry Heart.

    Story

Her program has worked so well for me after years as a yoyo-dieter, always hungry, always wanting, always overweight, always on a new diet.

Our bodies DO talk to us (well, not if you are waiting for an actual vocal chorded 'Hi, this is your body!" They are very good at telling us when to eat, when we are full, and what to eat -- what our bodies are craving. We never listen! This program gets you in touch with that and does so in a compassionate non-judgemental way. I dropped to a comfortable 130 and stayed there for years, not straying (maybe up or down a pound or two) and eating whatever I wanted but only when i was hungry -- not to be social, not because I was bored, not because my boyfriend dumped me (okay maybe ice cream then . . . but I KNEW what I was doing and so it didn't go on for more than a night.) I went from always wanting all the forbidden foods to allowing myself to have them but only when i craved them, which frankly, became less and less as I listened to my body. My body actually craves many things I was not aware I liked -- eggs, cantaloup (hated cuz it was a diet food) and salads! It doesn't feel good on diet sodas (actually gives me headaches), or some types of sugars (corn syrup gives me a stomachache.)

Also, this is not about any one kind of eating issue, despite what some have said. It works just as well for the yoyo-dieter as it does for the anorexic. I have done the program for years and it is amazing.

I have to say that those who wrote about her voice? WHAAAAA? I expected some crazy voice. She is well-modulated and just fine. Inducts a bit of a meditative atmosphere.

Buying the ones I have already read to share with our family and buying the new one too. I recommend!

In the entire canon of tough-girl sleuths, gumshoes, PIs, detectives, and investigators, there's no one quite like Fritillary Quilter. A New York arson investigator, a sassy, fresh spirit with a nose for arson and an eye for dubious burn patterns, "Tilly" pushes the envelope of the traditional female investigator with a young, hip outlook and indefatigable zeal.

This was a compelling audio book, and I listen while doing finish work and so it has to be compelling enough for me to pay attention! There was a lot of groundwork so that you could actually understand the workings of fire investigation, which I would compelling, but others have bemoaned. If i follow this character (and i will) then I want to understand why THEY are so good. Great visual novel! Love the character Tilly, and -sigh- Anna Fields did her well,RIP. I want to say mroe but do not want to spoil -- buy and enjoy!

Dunning is one of our favorite authors. This book is one of his early works, and the storyline is great, but he belabors the tension in some of the scenes, so not flawless. Would still highly recommend!

Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

The very beginning of the book is very depressing, and I am not into prison stories, so thought that this was not going to be a good fit for me. Because it was Grisham, I kept going. It isn't a prison story. It is a good who-dun-it.

This was not a page-turner, but I also could not stop listening (and had to several times). I was astounded by the twists, and realized I had been given clues that I had not caught.

Good reader, very good for this part.

We were introduced to this author though the BBC, and that Zen is such an unusual character, not typical, moral in his own way, sincere, with a backbone, and very clever. THIS IS NOT THAT ZEN. It is much more police-corrupt-lazy cop, and so it is a huge disappointment. I forced myself through 1 1/2 hours, then let go and went on. Possibly I will give it another try when I am not thinking it is like the BBC series, WHICH IS EXCELLENT, but I doubt it.
