    "NOT IN ENGLISH!"
    Overall

This book is in Swedish, not English. It was my Christmas present, and what a disappointment when we went to listen. Neither of us understands a word of Swedish. Don't know why the listing is in English without a notice that the book is not. Would love a reimbursement!!!

Iain Pears tells the story of John Stone, financier and arms dealer, a man so wealthy that in the years before World War One he was able to manipulate markets, industries, and indeed entire countries and continents. A panoramic novel with a riveting mystery at its heart, Stone's Fall is a quest to discover how and why John Stone dies, falling out of a window at his London home.

Marilyn Scher says: "Iain Pears-Always more than you bargained for."
    "Not worth the time"
    Overall

This book was disappointing. The three narrators is an interesting way to tell the story. Unfortunately, by the time you get to the third narrator -- which should be the most interesting -- the most interesting parts of the plot have been unfolded, and the story starts to drag interminably, just when it should be picking up. The ending is a real stretch -- just not believable. I waited it out, and I just didn't feel it was worth the time it took to listen.
