In a profound, funny, and beautifully rendered portrait of a beloved companion, bestselling novelist Dean Koontz remembers the golden retriever who changed his life. A retired service dog, Trixie was three when Dean and his wife, Gerda, welcomed her into their home. She was superbly trained, but her greatest gifts couldn’t be taught: her keen intelligence, her innate joy, and an uncanny knack for living in the moment.

If you could sum up A Big Little Life in three words, what would they be?

    Joy honesty love

What other book might you compare A Big Little Life to and why?

A Dogs Purpose because Trixie taught the Koontz's what she already knew about true meaning of living in shear joy just because...just as the many dogs of A Dogs Purpose

Why we think it’s a great listen: If you’ve ever loved a dog - or even patted a dog - this book, told from the perspective of man’s best friend, will tug at your heartstrings...and won’t let go until long after Welch performs the last word. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively and by listening very closely to the words of his master.

Lora says: "Enzo (because he's so wize) for president."
    "I loved this book!!"

Would you consider the audio edition of The Art of Racing in the Rain to be better than the print version?

I only have the audio version....so I can't really compare. But it is the print version actually just read by someone else..

What did you like best about this story?

Enzo's take on the humans in his life.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Too many...the entire story!
