"Worth Listening to Again"
I don't often say a book is worth listening to twice. But this book is beautifully written, and beautifully narrated. I often found myself going back one, two, or five minutes to listen again--not because it was hard to follow, but because I found it such compelling language I wanted to memorize it. That "re-read" only is found with the really good books. This is one of those. A rare five stars from me.
"Excellent Narration of an Instant Classic"
I have enjoyed King books for decades. But not until Under the Dome I have felt that he has hit the pinnacle of his career. An instant classic King book, but the narration really brought it to life. Exceptional narration...many would have succumbed to the urge to take a densely populated book like Under the Dome and put on a cast of characters...or accept a simple read through. Whomever made the decision to choose this narrator...thank you. Brilliant work. Best narration I have ever heard (well except for Neil Gaiman....but this one wins for most characters). A book I will happily listen to again. Thank you King for a great story. Thank you Raul Esparza. Brilliant.
"Ignoring the Booker....an excellent tale"
I have high expectations for the Booker winners. When I read one I expect to be completely blown away by lyrical writing, great characters, gripping plot. Don't get me wrong, White Tiger is excellent. But I found myself comparing it to the Booker list and it came up short. It's a great story, a fun story, an excellent insight into India. Read it. Laugh and enjoy. But if you're looking for Booker winners specifically, you may want to turn to something else.
"Fun Classical Immersion"
Great use of the Greek gods in a fun, fun story. Neil and Alice are well-drawn characters with a great sense of love and friendship. Narrator is excellent, voicing each of the gods with their unique personality and delivering a real sense of restraint and decorum to Alice and Neil. Loved it.
"Ageless"
I picked up this audiobook on a halloween special--I'd loved Farenheit 451 as a child and so decided to try this. I was honestly riveted. I couldn't put it down (my mp3 player down). I not only listened to it out running (when I usually do) but also had to snap on my player for short walks with the dogs and often just while doing household chores. Bradbury builds up the suspense effortlessly and allows this book to cross generations and decades. Whether you are 10 or 80 this story is as refreshing now as it was no doubt when it was first published. The narration is excellent and I can honestly find no fault. It is one of the few books that I will 'read' again. I recommend it highly.
"Excellent"
Great audio book and great read all around. Well worth the price of admission! I may listen to it twice....
"Disasppointed"
I expected more from this book after all the hype. Was disappointed in its content. Wasn't a great 'read'.
