I'm a Spenser and I thought it would be good to go back to the beginning and see how all this started. I enjoyed the first time perspective of this novel and it was fun to see Spenser stretch his legs. However, I'm not too much of a fan of the "Grandfather reads a book" style of narration. I much prefer the story telling actor narration of, say, Scott Brick or Simon Vance. I think I will avoid the rest of the Michael Prichard Spensers and put them on my Kindle instead.
This was my first experience with this author and I totally enjoyed it. I didn't expect what the end of the book (not the end of the story) was! What fun! I'm anxious to read some more of this.
The story is gripping and very well constructed. The author has clearly put a great deal of effort into the research of the crash and the subsequent problems of survival and recovery. I rarely read non-fiction, but in this case I'm really glad I did.
