"One of the best ever!"
Read this book when it first came out. Then listened to it many years ago and just listened again. It gets better and better. Brilliant writing and one of the best narrations I've ever heard. Joe Barrett is an outstanding reader. His voices truly enhance a very clever book.
"A Most Satisfying Book"
Excellent book. Beautifully written. The reading by Michael Maloney is absolutely perfect. Can't imagine a finer interpretation of this lovely book. You won't be disappointed.
"A terrible change of narrator"
Having listened to David Colacci's readings of Donna Leon's books for these many years it was certainly jarring to listen to Steven Crossley. For me, David Colacci IS and WILL ALWAYS BE the voice of Guido Brunetti. Steven Crossley is a fine narrator but with his extreme British accent, he is totally miscast as a replacement (for whatever unfathomable reason) for Senore Colacci. And whoever allowed him to mispronounce the name of Brunetti's daughter ought to be fired or shot immediately. Everyone responsible for this production should be ashamed of themselves. After you get past the production flaws the books wasn't bad.
"Excellent book and well read"
Best book I've listened to in a long time. Well constructed, logical and intelligently plotted. Eric Conger's reading is flawless. Highly recommended.
"Not the best Reacher"
A fairly boring Reacher adventure. May try to never listen to another Dick Hill Narration. His emotional chortles are annoying as are his dramatic affectations.
"Stunning"
This is one of the best audio books ever!!! I have listened to hundreds of books and this one was absolutely one of the very best. The way the author incorporates his characters into the history of Manhattan is genius. They are all fascinating and believable characters. I listened to this audiobook twice. Mark Bramhall's narration was superb. You will love this book. I listened to it twice.
"Great Stoorytelling"
Thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. Great narration and fully developed characters. You get to really know and like the characters and are sorry when it all ends. One of the best. Am currently finishing the Gate House, which I also like. Do them both and start with the Gold Coast.
