The story went something like this: Troy Jensen, who sailed solo around the world and conquered the seven summits, fell off a crab boat called Arctic Fire and drowned in the Bering Sea. Troy’s brother Jack, who doesn’t buy the story for a minute, heads to Alaska to uncover the truth. Jack discovers a connection between Troy and a secret intelligence organization known as Red Cell Seven (RCS) that will stop at nothing to protect America from threat (even if they have to kill thousands of Americans to do it). The problem is, the more Jack learns about Troy’s involvement with RCS, the more RCS learns about Jack.

You will have no trouble figering out who are the good guys and the bad guys are. They slap you in the face. I can't dicide if the author has lots of imagination or none at all. All in all I find the story unbieveable and was happy to move on to another book.

The holiday film A Christmas Story, first released in 1983, has become a bona fide Christmas perennial, gaining in stature and fame with each succeeding year. Its affectionate, wacky, and wryly realistic portrayal of an American family's typical Christmas joys and travails in small-town Depression-era Indiana has entered our imagination and our hearts with a force equal to It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street.

The epitome of the chivalric novel, Ivanhoe sweeps listeners into Medieval England and the lives of a memorable cast of characters. Ivanhoe, a trusted ally of Richard the Lion Hearted, returns from the Crusades to reclaim his inheritance. Rebecca, a beautiful Jewish woman, is defended by Ivanhoe against a charge of witchcraft - but it is Lady Rowena who is Ivanhoe's true love. The success of this novel lies with Scott's skillful blend of historic reality, chivalric romance, and high adventure.

The book was a turn pager but the hero is not to believable at times. When you don't looose a step after 3 bullet wounds a lot of the realism rubs off. I also asked why an unwounded women who grew up on water in Miami and rode paddle boards couldn't pilot a boat to the oil rig. I guess capable women don't equal a macho man.

Winter of the World picks up right where the first book left off, as its five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, Welsh - enter a time of enormous social, political, and economic turmoil, beginning with the rise of the Third Reich, through the Spanish Civil War and the great dramas of World War II, up to the explosions of the American and Soviet atomic bombs. As always with Ken Follett, the historical background is brilliantly researched and rendered, the action fast-moving, the characters rich in nuance and emotion.

With only a handful of “tourists” - CIA-trained assassins - left, Weaver would like to move on and use this as an opportunity to regain a normal life, a life focused on his family. His former boss in the CIA, Alan Drummond, can’t let it go. When Alan uses one of Milo’s compromised aliases to travel to London and then disappears, calling all kinds of attention to his actions, Milo can’t help but go in search of him.
