When an unexpected inheritance elevates her family to the ranks of the aristocracy, Amelia Hathaway discovers that tending to her younger sisters and wayward brother was easy compared to navigating the intricacies of the ton. Even more challenging: the attraction she feels for the tall, dark, and dangerously handsome Cam Rohan.

I was glad that Cam got his own story and I enjoy the tie in to the Wallflowers characters. It is like a circle of friends that keeps expanding. I can only hope the next books in the series will be as good!

Desperation has led Anne-Sophia Duncombe to a life of exile. Still, she is always just one mistake away from capture and a marriage she would rather die than endure. As a last resort to remain hidden from her former life, Sophia attempts a radical scheme: a life of humility and disguise. Rumor has it that Wilhelm Montegue, the Earl of Devon, is insane. A tormented war hero haunted by scandal, he is only tolerated because of his brilliant mind and swarthy good looks.

    Story

I liked the characters in this story; however, it dragged in some spots. Also, I got tired of all the unfulfilled longing, seriously? just get it over with. The saving grace for this book was the hero who was obviously on the spectrum. The author played to his strengths, which is as it should be. I appreciated him and the woman who could love him for what he was. There were good supporting characters, but not my favorite.
Narrator was good which is why I gave it 'middle of the road' ratings.

He owns three shipping companies, a diamond mine, and his own castle. He knows Portuguese, Hindi, Mandarin, and Morse code. His assets net thirteen million. Everyone thinks Andrew Tilmore, Lord Preston, the financial prodigy dubbed "The King of Threadneedle Street," has it all, but he wants the one prize money can't buy: His childhood sweetheart. Alysia Villier can't say if it's worse having Andrew's father in control of her inheritance or Andrew in control of her heart.

    Story

Some of this was interesting just because it tied into the first story, but overall was kind of lame. Most of the characters were OK, but the story got old fast. There was not a lot to hold my interest and I found my mind wandering. I kept with it because I was interested in the fates of the various characters, many from the first book, but I would not recommend this book.
I gave it a 2 overall because I didn't want to knock the narrator. She was fine.

As the daughter of a famed author, Isolde Ophelia Goodnight grew up on tales of brave knights and fair maidens. She never doubted romance would be in her future, too. The storybooks offered endless possibilities. And as she grew older, Izzy crossed them off. One by one by one....Now Izzy's given up yearning for romance. She'll settle for a roof over her head. What fairy tales are left over for an impoverished 26-year-old woman who's never even been kissed?

Dare is one of my favorite authors. Her stories are witty with likable, well developed characters. I found myself laughing out loud at times, and groaning at others. She pulls you into the story and you don't want to leave. No great stresses or intrigues to bedevil the reader, but instead an enjoyable read with lots of humor and humanity.

Good story, good character development. I got involved and hated to put it down. I really like this author and hope Audible gets more of her books soon (she has many)! This book is part of a family of books and it would be nice to listen to more of them.
    Definitely worth a credit!

Another good story. Bradley really adds depth to characters we have already met. Although the book could stand alone, it is a definite compliment to the first in the series and another enjoyable listen. The tale continues with more intrigue and challenges. The narrator is top of the line!

The only way for vicar's daughter Phoebe Millbury to inherit a family fortune is to find herself a duke - just as her late grandfather demanded in his will. I like Bradley's writing and the narrator was an excellent compliment to it. Truly enjoyable performance. Although the basis for the story (the will) was silly, Bradley's characters come to life and are full of humor and human flaws. The story is more intricate than I expected. Good way to spend some time!

For ages, it seems, advice columnist Annabelle Swift has loved Derek Knightly, editor-owner of the London Weekly, from a distance. Determined to finally attract her boss's attention, she seeks advice from her loyal readers, who offer Annabelle myriad suggestions, from lower-cut bodices (success!) and sultry gazes (disaster!) to a surprise midnight rendezvous (wicked!). Derek never really took note of his shy, wallflower lady writer. But suddenly she's exquisite, and he can't get Annabelle out of his mind!

I liked the series. Nothing serious or stressful. Lighthearted stories with likable, engaging characters and men who actually fell in love versus fighting off the grand emotions. There was also an infusion of humor which I enjoy. New characters are developed in each book of the series and the old ones continue to be involved. Always a plus in my mind. This last book (which I didn't anticipate being too exciting based on what I knew of the characters) was a sweet, delightful story. The best of the four! I ended up listening twice just because I enjoyed it so much. I also really like this narrator, she can do both male and female voices as well as a range of emotions quite effortlessly. I was very happy with the purchase of this series!

Someone said Quick's stories were too much alike. I disagree. I think maybe it is the narrator that leads one to that impression. Although this narrator is not my favorite for women's voices, she does the male parts quite well. The story kept my attention, and I liked the characters. This may be one of my favorites by Quick.

I thought this was an enjoyable series of books. Of course, I am a fan of Howell! The first two didn't weave together much, but they were good stories. However, as the series went, the stories became more entwined. Characters were likable and easy too become involved in. I also like this narrator!
