"The Hot Gate: An Excellent Listen"
The sense of humor of the characters that comes through in the performance. It is a good story performed well.
The interaction between Comet and the South Americans when she is trying to figure out their culture and why they perform their duties the way they do.
Comet with her interactions and the conflicts with those whe works with.
"Best of the series yet"
I believe I like this one best of the whole series.
Eve has shown so much personal growth over the course of the series but she is really in control of herself in this one. The conversation between her and Peabody about what made them become cops was extraordinary. Her insight into the feelings of Meara and Whitney and their dissappointment at the situation would not have fit in any earlier books
Her distinct voices for each character is always good but there were alot of added people in the cop shop in this one and it was easy to keep straight all the conversations. You could almost hear the tears in Peabody's voice a couple of times.
I had a terrible time turning this one off. I got a lot of exercise at the gym the last two days because it was a good opportunity to listen, lol. I even listened about a half hour after turning out the light last night while my husband snored next to me. Thank goodness for earbuds.
I am already mourning the fact that there are only two full books and one short story left before I catch up to Ms. Robb.
"Great continuation of Vision in White."
Have been a JD Robb fan for years but just recently started reading Nora Roberts serieses.
This series is about four friends who run a wedding planning business together. Enjoyable listen, narrator is good, but this one was alot shorter than the first. Didn't seem to be as much build up in the story.
"James Bond"
I never knew how much background the movies had to leave out until I listened to this book. Great story telling by the Ian Fleming and a performance by one of the best in the business.
"Great Halloween week listen."
Loving the whole Eve Dallas series, sometimes the short novellas leave me wanting more. But this one was complete and fun to listen to. Susan Ericksen does a great job on the voices even the "ghost". So fun to listen to Peabody getting the willies.
"As usual the book is better than the movie"
Judith Ivey brings to life the wonderful southern charm of Vivienne and her relationship with her oldest child.
"Good book, better narrator"
Had trouble turning it off at times although there were parts of the story I could have done without. The narrator's character voices kept running through my head long after I had finished the story. I also kept casting the movie version while listening. Wouldn't Matt Frewer make a great Phil Bushey?
