On a hot July afternoon, a worker at an Antietam Creek construction site drives the blade of his backhoe into a layer of soil - and strikes a 5,000-year-old human skull. The discovery draws plenty of attention and a lot of controversy. It also changes the life of one woman in ways she never expected.

    "Choppy Narrator"
    Overall

I have read the book and enjoyed it. It's fluff, pure and simple. Not one of the best Nora Roberts books, but it could be worse.

The narrator totally ruins this book. I would never download this or waste the money on the audio because the narrator speaks like this, "Callie went to the kitchen (7 second pause) to get a glass of water." She also makes each character sound like a moron. I am very disappointed in the narration.

A summer at his grandparents' South Dakota ranch is not 11-year-old Cooper Sullivan's idea of a good time. But things are a bit more bearable now that he's discovered the neighbor girl, Lil Chance, and her homemade batting cage. Even horseback riding isn't as awful as Coop thought it would be. Each year, with Coop's annual summer visit, their friendship deepens from innocent games to stolen kisses, but there is one shared experience that will forever haunt them: the terrifying discovery of a hiker's body.

    "Great Story, Poor Narration"
    Overall

I would give the story 4 stars, but the narrator gets zero! I couldn't tell who was speaking and had to do several rewinds. The characters voices were all very flat. I really liked the story, and the length was great for me since I listened commute a long distance every day. There is one element in the end that I thought was a little cheesy, but overall I really enjoyed the story.

Getting an exclusive interview with notoriously reclusive horror writer Hunter Brown was all Celebrity magazine reporter Lee Radcliffe ever wanted. And when Hunter agrees to the interview on the condition that Lee conduct it on a camping trip, she can hardly refuse. But after spending some time alone with the seductively mysterious author, Lee discovers that the only exclusive thing she wants is Hunter.

This is a cute, simple story...no great plot, but worth a listen.
