  • Oh. My. Gods.

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 31 mins)
    • By Tera Lynn Childs
    • Narrated By Jessica Almasy
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

When Phoebe's mom returns from Greece with a new husband and moves them to an island in the Aegean, Phoebe's plans for her senior year and track season are ancient history. Now she must attend the uberexclusive academy, where admission depends on pedigree, namely, ancestry from Zeus, Hera, and other Greek gods. Thatï¿¿ï¿¿s right, they're real, not myth, and their teen descendants are like the classical heroes - supersmart and superbeautiful with a few superpowers.

    "Very Entertaining Audio"

The audio of this book was brilliant. I really enjoyed the reader, Jessica Almasy. She brought the characters to life. The story was really good but I was glad that I listened instead of read it. I would have missed out on a really great audio.

I wasn't expected so much out of this when I first came across the book. It sat on my to be read list for quite a while before stumbling on the audio version. After sampling, I downloaded immediately and never once regretted the purchase.

The school was fun. Getting to know the different descendants and seeing how Phoebe learned to deal with her new life when going to a school meant for 'gifted' individuals. All around fun book.

  • Blameless: An Alexia Tarabotti Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 59 mins)
    • By Gail Carriger
    • Narrated By Emily Gray
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Gail Carriger’s best-selling Parasol Protectorate series reimagines Victorian England with vampires, werewolves, and a dash of steampunk. Blameless is the third in the series starring the parasol-wielding Lady Alexia Maccon, formerly Alexia Tarabotti. After news spreads of her delicate condition—a surprise to everyone since she’s married to a werewolf—Alexia is desperate to escape the London gossip. So she heads to Italy for a change of scenery.

    "Fantastic Performance"

I'm hooked on Emily Gray now. I've now listened to three books, this and the previous two in this series and I have absolutely loved it. Gray does such great voices and is consistent with her voices for each character and she's consistent in the way she delivers these lines. This is definitely a series I highly recommend the audiobook because it's almost like watching a BBC mini series with this performance.

The story is fun and exciting. Alexia's way of seeing the world as it is, no waxing of poetry involved, is fun. It surprises people with her reasonableness. I wanted to smack her husband a few times, but I enjoyed Alexia's adventure. Even if she never wants to go on another adventure ever again.

  • Infinity: Chronicles of Nick

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 53 mins)
    • By Sherrilyn Kenyon
    • Narrated By Holter Graham

At 14, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends - until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.

Jeanie Jenkins says: "Fantastic Prequel/Sequel to the Dark Hunter Series"
    "Stellar Audiobook"

My first audiobook that I listened to with Holter Graham was amazing. I had hesitated if I wanted this series on audio or paper copies. I love Kenyon's Dark Hunter world. I have most of the Dark Hunter series in paperback. While it was a hard decision on whether to do audio or book, I was not disappointed. Holter Graham is a superb reader. He is entertaining and is able to carry the story out as if it were a play, not a book. I will admit, he was the reason I opted for the audiobook.

The story was also very compelling. I loved Nick's first book. Even before writing this review, I got the second audiobook in my cart and ready to go. I was expecting the story line to be very similar to the Dark Hunter series, but other than having a few of the same repeat characters through the series, this stood well on it's own. I loved the zombie aspect. I hadn't really expected that. Going into this book, I didn't do a whole lot of reading up on what it was about, exactly. I was thrown for a loop (in a good way) and when the book finally came to an end, I was eager to continue the series.

Mr. Graham has portrayed Ms. Kenyon's book very well. They are both separately great and by joining forces, they make this book one that must be listened to.
